The objective of this study was to investigate the bone regeneration of a "gold standard" (autograft) from iliac crest associated with cellular therapy in rabbits. A bone defect was created with 10x5x5mm in 28 rabbit mandibles. The control group animals (n=14) were repaired with autograft of iliac crest and the experimental group animals (n=14) received iliac crest autograft in association with mononuclear cells from the bone marrow of the femur. Weekly radiographs were taken of the surgery region and histological analyses was performed in seven animals in each group at 15 days and in seven animals of each group at 30 days after the surgery. This report provides information on applying the cleft grafting technique in the species Sophora toromiro (Phil.) Skottsb., focused on its propagation, and contributes to the conservation of the genetic base of this species in the medium and long term. A germplasm collection was obtained via interspecific grafting using Sophora cassioides (Phil.) Sparre as rootstock, employing two variations of cleft grafting sealing. The survival of 301 S. toromiro grafts of the Titze line at ten months was 64% or 95%, according to the type of sealing performed. Se probó el enraizado de estacas, acodo aéreo e injerto para clonar genotipos de un huerto semillero de P. leiophylla, putativamente resistentes al ataque de Dendroctonus sp. y Toumeyella pinicola Ferris. y que además muestran las mejores características fenotipicas. Con el primer método se clonó a la progenie, mientras que los otros métodos se desarrollaron para clonar a los árboles madre. En el enraizado de estacas se evaluó el efecto del substrato, tipo de estaca y concentración de ácido indolbutírico (AIB). ABSTRACT Salinity of soil in arid and semiarid regions is a problem that affects the production and quality of fruit. That’s while we evaluated grafting on watermelon plants as an alternative to reduce the salinity effects. The experimental design was of randomized blocks, three treatments (cultivars Sangria, Summer Flavor 800 and Summer Flavor 840) with three repetitions. The cultivars were evaluated in grafted and ungrafted condition. The rootstock used for grafting was the interspecific hybrid Strong Tosa (C. maxima x C. moschata). The susceptible species Cedrela odorata and Swietenia macrophylla to attack by Hypsipyla grandella (Zeller) larvae were grafted onto the resistant species Khaya senegalensis and Toona ciliata. Six-month-old grafted plants were then compared to their reciprocal grafts and to both intact (non-grafted) and autografted plants for damage due to H. grandella larvae and for their effects on larval performance. Abstract In the peach nursery trees production, the use of rootstocks with unknown genetic identity obtained from peach seeds in the canning industry is frequent.
