Efficiency of Isolated and Associated Herbicides to Control Glyphosate-Resistant Sourgrass Planta Daninha
CASSOL,M.; MATTIUZZI,M.D.; ALBRECHT,A.J.P.; ALBRECHT,L.P.; BACCIN,L.C.; SOUZA,C.N.Z.
ABSTRACT: Sourgrass is one of the weeds of great economic importance in Brazil due to its difficulty of control and conditions that allow its emergence and development throughout the year. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of clethodim and haloxyfop applied alone or mixed with glyphosate and other herbicides to control glyphosate-resistant sourgrass at different stages of development. For this, three experiments were conducted in the field: in experiment 1, the herbicides were applied in sourgrass plants with 6 to 8 tillers; and in experiments 2 and 3, when plants were at full flowering, with up to 18 tillers. After treatment application, visual evaluations were performed at 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, 49, and 56 days after application (DAA) in...

HERBICIDE SELECTIVITY TO SIGNAL GRASS AND CONGO GRASS Planta Daninha
ANÉSIO,A.H.C.; SANTOS,M.V.; SILVEIRA,R.R.; FERREIRA,E.A.; BRAZ,T.G.S.; TUFFI SANTOS,L.D.; SANTOS,J.B..
ABSTRACT This study was conducted in order to evaluate the selectivity of signal grass and congo grass, submitted to post-emergence herbicide application. The experiment was conducted under greenhouse conditions, in Diamantina, Minas Gerais state, and it was arranged in a randomized block design, with five replications. Treatments were set in factor scheme (8 x 2) + 2. Eight herbicides (nicosulfuron; clomazone; glyphosate; fluazifop-p-butyl + fomesafen; lactofen; fomesafen; fluazifop-p-butyl and mesotrione) were applied in doses recommended by the manufacturer on two fodder species: Brachiaria decumbens cv. Basilisk (signal grass) and Brachiaria ruziziensis (congo grass); in addition, there were two control samples without herbicide application, for a...

Does crotalaria (Crotalaria breviflora) or pumpkin (Cucurbita moschata) inter-row cultivation in restoration plantings control invasive grasses? Scientia Agricola
César,Ricardo Gomes; Brancalion,Pedro Henrique Santin; Rodrigues,Ricardo Ribeiro; Oliveira,Aretha Medina dos Santos; Alves,Marcelo Corrêa.
Alternative methods to control invasive fodder grasses are necessary to reduce the use of herbicides in forest restoration, which has been carried out primarily in riparian zones. We sought to investigate if inter-row cultivation of crotalaria (Crotalaria breviflora DC) or pumpkin (Cucurbita moschata Duschene ex. Poir) with native tree species is an efficient strategy to control invasive fodder grasses in restoration plantings. We tested five treatments in a randomized block design, namely (1) control of brachiaria grass (Urochloa decumbens (Stapf.) Webster) with glyphosate in the implementation and post-planting grass control of the reforestation, (2 and 3) glyphosate use in the implementation and inter-row sowing of crotalaria (2) or pumpkin (3), and...
