Técnicas para interpretar a demanda da agricultura familiar: a comunicação interpessoal. Infoteca-e
SPERRY, S..
ABSTRACT: The objective here is to show the need to start the small farmers researches by collecting upon agriculturist social dynamics, as by understanding their social interaction among themselves and their society. It is possible to identify the needs and the problems of their organization and, therefore, to conduct a research process in order to transfer more suitable technologies to the reality. Instead of starding the technological interference in the rural area with the traditional diagnosis about the agriculturers production systems, the study call up attention to the importance of the qualified diagnosis and the interpessoal communication. In order to reach its purpose and also to show that strategy is acessable and that may be easily managed, the...

Verbiage Matters: Do Respondents Answer Willingness to Pay Dichotomous Choice Questions on a Per Person or Per Group Basis? AgEcon
Lohman, Greta; Keske, Catherine M.; Loomis, John B..
Dichotomous choice willingness to pay questions are often used to determine the value visitors place on nature-based recreation. Ambiguity in wording can result in the use of information that does not necessarily reflect visitors’ true WTP. For example, depending on the specificity of the verbiage used, respondents may answer questions on a group basis, rather than an individual basis. To address this issue, experimental surveys were distributed with questions that specifically asked WTP on a per person basis, as compared to control surveys in which the WTP question was more generally worded. Analyses show WTP responses for either survey type are statistically different, with non-overlapping confidence intervals. Furthermore, approaches were conducted...

Surfaces in E³ invariant under a one parameter group of isometries of E³ Anais da ABC (AABC)
ROUSSOS,IOANNIS M..
We develop a convenient surface theory in E³ in order to apply it to the class of the surfaces invariant under a one-parameter group of isometries of E³. In this way we derive intrinsic characterizations along with several results of subclasses of this class of surfaces that satisfy certain preassigned properties. In the process all results are also effortlessly derived. Among these subclasses are those with surfaces; of constant mean curvature, of constant Gaussian curvature, isothermic, with constant difference or ratio of the principal curvatures.

Social condition affects hormone secretion and exploratory behavior in rats BJMBR
Genaro,G.; Schmidek,W.R.; Franci,C.R..
Studies of behavior, endocrinology and physiology have described experiments in which animals housed in groups or in isolation were normally tested individually. The isolation of the animal from its group for testing is perhaps the most common situation used today in experimental procedures, i.e., there is no consideration of the acute stress which occurs when the animal is submitted to a situation different from that it is normally accustomed to, i.e., group living. In the present study, we used 90 male 120-day-old rats (Rattus norvegicus) divided into 5 groups of 18 animals, which were housed 3 per cage, in a total of 6 cages. The animals were tested individually or with their groups for exploratory behavior. Hormones were determined by radioimmunoassay...
