Ecología trófica de la caballa del Mar Argentino (Scombridae, Scomber japonicus marplatensis). Parte I. Alimentación y crecimiento OceanDocs
Angelescu, V.A..
The present study describes the morphology of the digestive system, the feeding and feeding behaviour, and the trophic relationships of the mackerel in the coastal waters regions, pelagic zone, along the Province of Buenol Aires. At the same time, this study is completed with a bioestatistical analysis on growth rhythm of body length and body weight of secondary juveniles, pre-adults and adults. All the biological information and statistical data correspond, only to the period november-march and the summer trophic habitat area.

Descripción morfológica e histológica del aparato digestivo del calamar Illex argentinus (Cephalopoda: Ommastrephidae) OceanDocs
Ivanovic, M.L.; Brunetti, N.E..
The morphology and histology of the digestive tract of the Argentine short-finned squid Illex argentinus are described. The structures involved are the buccal mass, oesophagus, vestibulum, stomach, caecum, intestine, digestive gland and digestive duct appendages. A differential development of the tissular components in relation to the function of each organ is observed. The musculature of the buccal mass, oesophagus and stomach, organs involved in the mechanical degradation of food is strongly developed. This development is weaker in the caecum where enzymatic digestion and absorption take place and in the intestine. For the same reason, the epithelia of the mucosae of the oesophagus and stomach secrete a thick cuticle whereas those of the caecum and...

Estudios sobre el régimen alimentario del mero (Acanthistius brasilianus)y su relación con las características morfométricas del sistema digestivo (Pisces, Fam.Serranidae) OceanDocs
Goldstein, H.E.; Cousseau, M.B..
Observations on the stomach content of the sea bass have been made in order to study the trophic spectrum and the feeding habits variations, according to the season, region and individual size. On the other hand, some morphometric and meristic characters of the buccopharyngeal cavity have been statistically analyzed in relation with the total length and compared with size and shape of the preys. The following characters were studied; length and width of the mouth; size of branchial arch; number and length of the gillrakers and distance between them.
