Procesamiento y comercialización de la anchoíta (Engraulis anchoita) del Mar Argentino OceanDocs

The anchovy (E.anchoita)is one of the most abundant species in the Argentine Sea. Distributed in between latitudes 34°S and 48°S, it has only been caught, traditionally, along the coasts of Buenos Aires Province - particulary in the vicinity of Mar del Plata. Anchovy-like items are exported both to producing and consuming countries. During the last three years markets have been lost. In order to regain them and to develop new ones, particularly in Europe it shall be necessary to compete with products that are well-priced and of the high quality and have a substantial aggregate value. The anchovy domestic market could be enlarged- with certain limitations- be developing new products.

La producción y mercadeo de pequeños pescados pelágicos salados para consumo en áreas rurales OceanDocs

La pesca de especies pelágicas pequeñas es para el Ecuador un recurso masivo el cual se aprovecha en más de un 90% para la elaboración de harina de pescado, usada en la alimentación de animales. A pesar del bajo valor de estas especies, cantidades insignificantes de las mismas entran al comercio de pescado fresco, el cual está dominado por especies con un menor contenido de grasas. A cambio se comercializa una cantidad apreciable en productos enlatados (9,349 tm en 1984 solo para el mercado nacional), pero se limita el consumo entre los sectores de más bajos ingresos, a causa del alto costo del envase de hojalata. Producción y comercialización de calamar en el Uruguay OceanDocs

Durante los últimos cinco años, el Gobierno de Uruguay a través del Instituto Nacional de Pesca (INAPE), y con la asistencia de FAO llevó a cabo el Programa de Desarrollo Pesquero. Sobre la base de un mejor conocimiento de 105 recursos pesqueros la Industria Pesquera Uruguaya ha crecido considerablemente, a modo de ejemplo, la captura total anual se ha incrementado de 26.000 TM (1975) a 108.000 TM (1979). A pesar de este desarrollo, Uruguay, cuenta con recursos pesqueros, como el del calamar, que aún se encuentran subexplotados. Whitemouth croaker Micropogonias furnieri fishery during three intensive fishing seasons in the outer area of the La Plata River (Argentina-Uruguay) is analyzed. Resource exploitation in the South Atlantic area shows a general retraction of the distribution range and an isolation of the La Plata River stock where most of the fishing effort concentrates. The species market evolution brought about, for Argentina and Uruguay, an important shift in its dynamics as of 1992, when the product insertion in Asiatic markets generated an important commercial attraction and a subsequent increase in the fishing effort by the argentine inshore coastal fleet. The Lake Victoria fishery contributes immensely to the socio-economic development of the riparian states. The East African Community has designated the lake basin as an ‘economic growth zone’, with the potential to develop into a major economic region. The fisheries are vital in creating employment opportunities, mostly rural-based, thereby helping to reduce rural-urban migration. Fish is also a rich source of animal protein for human consumption and provides raw material (fishmeal) for processing animal feeds. This document presents the Senegalese maritime fishing statistics in 2004 with the catch from the artisanal fisheries, the industrial fisheries as well as exports and the value of commercial coating.The document also informs on the number of estimated canoes , the estimated number of fishermen, consumption of fresh fish product and processed products. The document also shows fisheries statistics by marine areas.
