Controle commande d'un robot sousmarin ArchiMer
Durand, D; Domingo, J; Levallois, E.
This system is composed of a high accuracy hydraulic manipulator arm with 6 degrees of freedom, for high loads (2000 daN), using ultrasound proximetry and contact force measurement data to carry out the subsea connection of bottom oil wells. An expert system controls the connection phases and generates the sequences of commands to be executed by the robot. The safety systems and failure modes are also taken into account. A graphic operator station provides easy control. Each connection phase generates a graphic representation of the robot status and all the proprioceptive and exteroceptive sensors. The control/command system, although it is designed to carry out a subsea connection by means of a manipulator arm, can be adapted to any type of process. For...

Local head loss caused in connections used in micro-irrigation systems AGRIAMBI
Bombardelli,Wagner W. Á.; Camargo,Antonio P. de; Frizzone,José A.; Lavanholi,Rogério; Rocha,Hermes S. da.
ABSTRACT Information about local head loss caused by connections employed in micro-irrigation systems is hard to be found in literature. The objective of this research was to experimentally determine the local head losses in connections commonly used in micro-irrigation and propose mathematical models using the theorem of Buckingham. The methodology of tests was based on international standards. The tests were carried out under controlled inlet pressure, at 150 kPa, and five to ten units of each connection model were tested. The curves relating flow and head losses were drawn based on 15 flow conditions, obtained under increase and decrease of flow rate. For each condition, 30 points were collected resulting in a sample size of 900 points in each test. For...

Discharge analysis for a system approach to river basin development with Subak irrigation schemes as a culture heritage in Bali CIGR Journal
Yekti, Mawiti Infantri; Schultz, Bart; Norken, I Nyoman; Hayde, Laszlo.
Paddy terraces in Baliare important cultural landscapes.  Traditionally, the flow within a river basin has been managed using a traditional technology called Subak irrigation.  These schemes are based on the cropping patterns and indigenous water management, which are organized by the respective Subak associations.  Unfortunately, this traditional technology is facing challenges: water shortage and competition with other water users.  In order to sustain agriculture production of Subak irrigation schemes in the Yeh Ho River Basin, the available discharge in Yeh Ho River was analyzed in this study in light of the supply to the Subak irrigation schemes within the river basin.  By using the Weibull formula, the historic supply data of several diversion weirs...

Design, implementation and tuning of an irrigation canal system SCADA CIGR Journal
Rijo, Manuel.
Abstract: The paper presents the design, implementation and field tuning of the SCADA system of a Portuguese irrigation canal network upstream controlled with AMIL radial gates and equipped with other Neyrpic devices. In addition of the irrigation district and its hydraulic main system, the paper also presents SCADA architecture, including two synoptics, and their remote terminal units (monitoring and control and monitoring units). The SCADA manual controllers – direct, gate position and gate flow controllers - are defined for the main canals and main distributors intakes, in order to permit a pre-defined flow value or a daily flow schedule achievement. SCADA also monitors outflows from the main canals and main distributors - the most important canal top...
