Degradation Enhancement as the Mechanism of Resistance to Imazethapyr in Barnyardgrass Planta Daninha
DALAZEN,G.; PISONI,A.; RAFAELI,R.S.; MEROTTO JR.,A..
ABSTRACT: Non-target site (NTS) herbicide resistance by degradation enhancement is an increasing problem in several weeds around the world. In this study, the occurrence of degradation enhancement by cytochrome P450 monooxygenases (cytP450) was evaluated as the mechanism of resistance to imazethapyr in barnyardgrass. The cytP450 inhibitors malathion and piperonyl butoxide (PBO) and the inducer naphthalic anhydride (NA), applied in mixture or sequentially with imazethapyr, were evaluated on imidazolinone-susceptible and -resistant barnyardgrass byotipes. In addition, the degradation of imazethapyr was analyzed in plants treated with imazethapyr applied alone or two hours after malathion or NA. The spraying of malathion and PBO reduced the resistance factor...

Morphological and Metabolic Changes in Soybean Plants Cultivated in Irrigated Rice Rotation and as Affected by Imazapyr and Imazapic Herbicides Carryover Planta Daninha
FRAGA,D.S.; AGOSTINETTO,D.; LANGARO,A.C.; OLIVEIRA,C.; ULGUIM,A.R.; SILVA,J.D.G..
ABSTRACT: The appearance of soybean cultivars that are tolerant to herbicides from the imidazolinone group enables irrigated rice rotation conducted on Clearfield® system. The objective of this work was to evaluate the morphological and metabolic changes of soybean cultivars containing Cultivance® (CV), which is tolerant to imidazolinone, sulphonylurea toletant (STS) and Roundup Ready® (RR), which is tolerant to glyphosate as affected by carryover of increasing doses of imazapyr and imazapic herbicides mixture, applied in the management of irrigated rice crop. Thus, experiments were conducted on the field and in greenhouse, evaluating phytotoxicity, height, leaf area, shoot dry matter, as well as variables related to the secondary metabolism of plants like...

Residual effect of imazapyr + imazapic on cotton grown in succession to soybean AGRIAMBI
Ribeiro,Samia R. de S.; Souza,Amanda dos S.; Leal,Jéssica F. L.; Borella,Junior; Araujo,André L. S.; Pinho,Camila F. de.
ABSTRACT The long residual period of pre-emergent herbicides can interfere with successor crops, causing a phenomenon named carryover. This study evaluated the residual effect of imazapyr + imazapic herbicides on cotton crop grown in succession to soybean. The experiment was conducted between September 2016 and March 2017, in a randomized block design with 4 replicates, where the treatments were four doses of imazapyr + imazapic, 75, 150, 225 and 300 g a.i. ha-1, and the control. The analyzed variables were chlorophyll a fluorescence, shoot height, root length and volume, dry shoot mass and root dry mass. The data were submitted to analysis of variance and Tukey’s test, at p ≤ 0.05. The reduction in photosynthetic performance indexes for treatments of 150,...

Persistence of imazapyr+imazapic in irrigated rice area and effect on soybean due to soil moisture and phytoremediation in the off-season Bragantia
Oliveira,Maurício Limberger; Marchesan,Enio; Soares,Camille Flores; Farias,Júlia Gomes; Ulguim,André da Rosa; Fleck,Alisson Guilherme; Coelho,Lucas Lopes.
ABSTRACT The residue of imidazolinone herbicides in soil can be detrimental to soybean cultivation in rotation with Clearfield® rice. Thus, this research aimed to evaluate the ryegrass phytoremediation capacity on the imazapyr+imazapic residue in the soil in two soil moisture conditions in the off-season, and the effect on soybean growth in the next growing season. Two experiments were conducted between 2016 and 2017 in Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul state, Brazil. It was used the randomized block design in a 3 × 2 factorial. The first factor being the residue in the soil of 0, 210 and 420 g c.p.·ha–1 of the formulated mixture of the herbicides imazapyr+imazapic(525 + 175 g a.i.·kg–1) applied to rice in the 2015/2016 growing season, and the second factor...

Susceptibility of Echinochloa populations to cyhalofop-butyl in Southern region of Brazil and impact of the weed phenology on its efficacy of control Ciência Rural
Kalsing,Augusto; Tronquini,Sérgio Mateus; Mariot,Carlos Henrique Paim; Rubin,Rogerio da Silva; Bundt,Angela Da Cas; Fadin,Dauri Aparecido; Marques,Luiz Henrique.
ABSTRACT: Cyhalofop-butyl stands out among the herbicides in the control of imidazolinone-resistant Echinochloa species; but, rice farmers are not always satisfied with the control achieved with this herbicide. The objectives were to evaluate in regional scale the susceptibility of Echinochloa populations to cyhalofop-butyl, and quantify the effect of the weed phenology on its efficacy of control. For this, three trials were carried out under greenhouse conditions with a fully random design, using Echinochloa populations collected in rice fields in the southern region of Brazil. In two trials, the susceptibility level of 156 (2012/13 growth season) and 103 (2013/14 growth season) populations were evaluated with the application of cyhalofop-butyl at 360g...
