The larva of Neoneura confundens Wasscher and van’t Bosch, 2013 (Odonata, Coenagrionidae) and key to the larvae of genus Anais da ABC (AABC)
RODRÍGUEZ,JOSÉ S.; MOLINERI,CARLOS.
Abstract: The beautifully colored damselflies included in Neoneura Selys are divided in 28 species known from North, Central and South America. Larval stage is little known, only seven species were described at this stage. We describe and illustrate the final instar larva of Neoneura confundens for the first time. Adults associated to this larva correspond to the blue form of the species and are also discussed and illustrated. The larva of N. confundens is similar to other Neoneura larvae, showing 1 premental seta and a well-marked nodus in caudal lamellae, but it can be differentiated by having fringed posterior margin in all tibiae and in middle and hind tarsi, among other characters. A key to known larvae of Neoneura and new records extending the...

Larva of Seticeros aquilus (Thomson) (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae: Prioninae: Callipogonini) Neotropical Entomology
Casari,Sônia A; Santos-Silva,Antonio.
The larva of Seticeros aquilus (Thomson), collected in Quercus humboldtii (Fagaceae) in Colombia, is described and illustrated. Biological notes and a comparison with the larva of Chorenta reticulata described by Duffy (1960) and with the descriptions of the other South American Callipogonini species are presented.

Neubern,CSO; Trivinho-Strixino,S; Silva,FL.
One new species of Riethia Kieffer, Riethia manauara n. sp., is described and figured as male, pupa and larva. The generic diagnosis for pupae and larvae are emended. The specimens were collected from water systems in the Amazon Rainforest in northern Brazil.

Ontogenetic trajectories and hind tibia geometric morphometrics of Holymenia clavigera (Herbst) and Anisoscelis foliacea marginella (Dallas) (Hemiptera: Coreidae) Neotropical Entomology
Rodrigues,Daniela; Sanfelice,Daniela; Monteiro,Leandro R.; Moreira,Gilson R.P..
Holymenia clavigera (Herbst) and Anisoscelis foliacea marginella (Dallas) (Hemiptera: Coreidae) are distributed in southern Brazil and belong to the poorly studied tribe Anisoscelini. Preliminary observations indicate an ample coexistence of these species in terms of host-plant use. There is also a strong similarity regarding egg and nymph morphology. We characterized and compared their ontogenetic trajectories by means of growth curves and multivariate ontogenetic allometry, since the only apparent difference between these species is a remarkable growth in the hind tibia of A. foliacea marginella. Because their hind tibia is similar in the early instars, the shape variation of this structure was quantified by the thin plate splines function with the...

Biology of Bonagota cranaodes (Meyrick) (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) on seven natural foods Neotropical Entomology
Bentancourt,Carlos M.; Scatoni,Iris B.; Gonzalez,Alvaro; Franco,Jorge.
The effect of seven natural diets on the development and reproduction of Bonagota cranaodes (Meyrick) was evaluated under laboratory conditions. The experiments were carried out at the temperature of 23 ± 1ºC, with 70 ± 10% of RH and a photoperiod of 16:8h (L:D). The larvae were reared on apple, grapevine and honeysuckle (Lonicera japonica). On the first two foods three types of diet were used: spring leaves, summer leaves and fruits. The number of instars varied from five to seven. The larvae reared on apple leaves had, in general, fewer instars than those reared on grapevine and honeysuckle leaves. The duration of larval development differed between diets. The larvae reared on spring apple leaves showed the shortest duration, and those on fruit the...

Lencioni-Neto,Frederico; Sakakibara,Albino M..
The last-instar nymph of Alcmeone robustus (Butler, 1877) (Membracidae, Darninae, Darnini) is described and illustrated, and some biological and behavioral notes are provided. The nymphs were observed on Pera sp. (Euphorbiaceae) in the locality of Jacareí, state of São Paulo, Brazil, until they became adults. The newly emerged adults, male and female, are also briefly re-described.
