Defoliation patterns and tillering dynamics in Italian ryegrass under different herbage allowances Animal Sciences
Graminho, Larissa Arnhold; Rocha, Marta Gomes da; Pötter, Luciana; Rosa, Aline Tatiane Nunes da; Bergoli, Tuani Lopes; Machado, Marcela.
This work was carried out in order to generate information on the tillering process and to contribute for the understanding of the defoliation process on Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.) grazed by lambs under different herbage allowances: 6, 8 and12 kg  of dry matter  per100 kg of animal live weight  per day. The grazing method was intermittent. The experimental design was completely randomized following a repeated measure arrangement, with three treatments and two area replications. The intensity of defoliation is greater at 6 and 9% herbage allowances. The defoliation interval is higher at 12% herbage allowance, intermediate at 9% and lower at 6%. The rates of tiller emergence, survival and death, stability index the tiller population are...

Structural and morphogenical characteristics of black oats and Italian ryegrass on pasture submitted to two grazing intensities R. Bras. Zootec.
Confortin,Anna Carolina Cerato; Rocha,Marta Gomes da; Quadros,Fernando Luiz Ferreira de; Glienke,Carine Lisete; Rossi,Guilherme Ebling; Moraes,Andréia Barros de.
Morphogenical and structural characteristics of black oats (Avena strigosa Schreb.) and Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.) on pastures managed under two grazing intensities were quantified by using marked tiller technique. The expected intensities of disappearance of forage mass initial value were 35% (low) and 65% (high). Experimental animals were sheep and interval among grazing was determined through 300 degree-day thermal sum. The experimental design was completely randomized with two grazing intensities and two replicates. Leaf blades of oats and ryegrass were removed at an average proportion of 57.5% of their initial length for both grazing intensities. Among the morphogenical characteristics of oats, only elongation rate of defoliate leaf...

Morphogenetic and tillering dynamics in Tanzania grass fertilized and non-fertilized with nitrogen according to season R. Bras. Zootec.
Roma,Cláudio Fabrício da Cruz; Cecato,Ulysses; Soares Filho,Cecílio Viega; Santos,Geraldo Tadeu dos; Ribeiro,Ossival Lolato; Iwamoto,Bruno Shigueo.
The objectives of this study were to evaluate morphogenetic characteristics and tillering dynamics in Tanzania grass fertilized and non-fertilized with nitrogen, under intermittent grazing, in the spring and the summer. The main plots were composed of four nitrogen rates (0, 100, 200 and 300 kg/ha) and the subplots were growth seasons: spring (October, November and December) and summer (January, February and March). The experimental design was of randomized block with plots subdivided by time (seasons of the year) and four replications. Urea was used as nitrogen supply and was divided into two applications: one in the spring and another in the summer. The experimental units fertilized with N rates of 200 and 300 kg/ha showed six cycles of pasture, with an...
