Marine interstitial Amphipoda and Isopoda (Crustacea) from Santiago, Cape Verde Islands Naturalis
Stock, Jan H.; Vonk, Ronald.
Three species of Amphipoda are recorded from interstices of a marine beach on the island of Santiago, Cape Verde Archipelago: Cabogidiella littoralis n. gen., n. sp. (Bogidiellidae), Psammogammarus spinosus n. sp. (Melitidae), and Idunella sketi Karaman, 1980 (Liljeborgiidae). The latter, widely distributed species (West Indies, Canary Islands), is new to the Cape Verde Islands. Furthermore, an isopod is described from the same locality, Caecostenetroides mixtum n. sp. (Gnathostenetroididae).

Copepods from intertidal interstitial water of Salvador, Brazil. I. Cuipora janaina gen. n., sp. n. & Cyclopina caiala sp. n. (Cyclopoida: Cyclopinidae) Naturalis
Lotufo, Guilherme Ribeiro; Falavigna da Rocha, Carlos Eduardo.
Cuipora janaina gen. n., sp. n., and Cyclopina caiala sp. n. are described from the interstitial water of a sandy beach in Salvador, Bahia (Brazil). Cuipora is distinguished from all other genera of the subfamily Cyclopininae in having the endopodite of legs 1-4 2-segmented and the terminal segment armed with 4 setae. Cuipora is compared to Erythropolites Huys & Boxshall, 1990, Herbstina Huys & Boxshall, 1990, and Cyclopina Claus, 1862, with which it has most morphological similarities. Cyclopina caiala sp. n. is distinguished by the structure of the leg 5 of the male and female and by a particular combination of characters of the mouthparts. Taxonomical problems involving Cylopina mediterranea Steuer, 1940 are discussed.

Pycnogonida collected in interstitia of coral sand and rubble in the Netherlands Antilles. Amsterdam Expeditions to the West Indian Islands, Report 58 Naturalis
Stock, Jan H..
Seven species of Pycnogonida are recorded from the islands of Curaçao and Bonaire, living in coral debris (sand, rubble), often quite deep (40—80 cm) in the sediment. Two species (both new) occur in larger numbers and are considered truly interstitial. The others possibly are only accidental in this kind of habitat.

Effects of temperature and salinity on the survival rates of coxicerberus ramosae (Albuquerque, 1978), an interstitial isopod of a Sandy Beach on the coast of Brazil BABT
Albuquerque,Elaine Figueiredo; Meurer,Bruno; Netto,Godofredo da Camara Genofre.
The tolerance to the combined effects of temperature and salinity was investigated in the interstitial isopod Coxicerberus ramosae (Albuquerque, 1978), a species of intertidal zone of sandy beaches in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The animals were collected on Praia Vermelha Beach. The experiments lasted 24 h and nine salinities and seven temperatures were used for a total of 63 combinations. Thirty animals were tested in each combination. The species showed high survival in most of the combinations. The temperature of 35 ºC was lethal and at 5 ºC, the animals tolerated only a narrow range of salinities. The statistical analyses showed that the effects of temperature and salinity were significant on the survival, which confirmed the euryhalinity and eurythermy...
