Composition and functional groups of epiedaphic ants (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) in irrigated agroecosystem and in nonagricultural areas PAB
Hernández-Ruiz,Patricia; Castaño-Meneses,Gabriela; Cano-Santana,Zenón.
The objective of this work was to evaluate the species composition and functional groups of ants in nonagricultural (NA) and in irrigated areas (S, seasonal irrigation; P, irrigation with well water; W, irrigation with wastewater) in an arid agricultural region in central Mexico, throughout 2005 and 2006. A total of 52,358 ants belonging to 6 subfamilies, 21 genera and 39 species was collected using pitfall traps. The species best represented in all plots were: Forelius pruinosus, Pheidole obtusospinosa, Monomorium minimum and Dorymyrmex spp. NA plots recorded the highest density of ants. The highest values for diversity (H') and equitativity (J') were recorded in NA and P plots, while the lowest were recorded in W plots. Cluster analysis showed two...

การแข่งขันการลดต้นทุนการผลิตข้าวในนาชลประทานเขตกรุงเทพมหานคร Thai Agricultural
Nittaya Ruensuk; Sukanya Binamud.
Results of rice production technologies management for reducing cost of rice production in irrigated area program in the year 2010 to 2011 showed that the farmers who joined to this project could reduce production cost of 954 - 2,734 baht/rai, the yield was not reduced, but increased in some cases. To evaluate the adoption, a competition for reducing rice production cost was set for farmers’ adaptation of the knowledge from the project to their field by themselves. The competition was set at Klong 10 subdistrinct, Nongjok distrinct, Bangkok. The result showed that the farmers could reduce the cost as much as 3,734 baht/ton of paddy. The highest cost was 8,850 baht/ton of paddy because of land leveling cost. However the farmers could reduce production cost...

Aim of this study was to develop an appropriate recommendation for nitrogen management in irrigated areas of the central plain by using Leaf Color Chart (LCC). Eleven photoperiod-insensitive and 3phot operiod-sensitive rice varieties were studied for nitrogen management using LCC. The studies were conducted at Pathum Thani Rice Research Center both in wet and dry seasons during 2006-2007. Factorial in RCB with 4 replications were used which consisted of 2 factors, rice varieties and nitrogen managements. Four methods of nitrogen managements ; recommendation, application of nitrogen at LCC≤2, LCC≤3 and LCC≤4 were used in the experiments. The results showed that leaf color differs among varieties and seasons. For photoperiod-insensitive rice varieties, at...

เปรียบเทียบระบบการปลูกข้าวแบบ 2 ครั้งต่อปี และ 3 ครั้งต่อปี ในเขตนาชลประทาน Thai Agricultural
Nittaya Ruensuk; Sukanya Binahamad.
Farmers in irrigated area tried to grow rice more than 2 crops/year. Nowadays there are no break even data. The aim of this research to compare economic data between 2 and 3 crops/year rice cropping system. Experiments were conducted in farmer’s field and Pathumthani Rice Research Center’s field, Pathum Thani province in 2011-13. There were 3 experiments : using the same variety, changed variety every season and changed variety every season with short duration rice variety in the rice cropping system. Each experiment consisted of 2 treatments : 2 and 3 crops/year rice cropping system. The result shown that 2 crops/year rice cropping system gave lower total yield and income than 3 crops/year around 393 kg./rai/year and 3,117 bath/ra/year but gave higher...
