In the course of cost-benefit analysis of management information systems such peculiar elements can be found on both sides the interpretation of which might be a difficult task. Looking at the costs the generally known cost elements are found (TCO – Total Cost of Ownership): investment costs (hardware, software), operating costs (staff costs, maintenance expenditures, rental, and subscriptions). However, besides these it is worth to mention the costs deriving from switching from a given system, the definition and quantification of which is not yet solved. Az elemzés szerint a Somogy megyei vadásztársaságok nyereségesek voltak. Az összköltség szignifikánsan (p<0,05) befolyásolta a bevételek nagyságát. A vizsgált időtartam alatt a legnagyobb bevételi forrás (értékben, arányban) a kül-földi bérvadásztatásból, a legjelentősebb kiadás a vadgazdálkodási költségből származott. A 2004. évben a nagymértékű kiadásnövekedést a Somogy megyei vadásztársaságok kompenzálták, de az eltérő adottságok és lehetőségek miatt, a felmerült problémát a társaságok különböző módon oldották meg (pl. tagdíj nö-velésével, a vaddisznóhajtás értékesítésével, tárgyi eszközök értékesítésével, a vadgazdálkodási költség csökkentése segítségével). Its importance is going to last or even increase in the coming years. That is why the rational and efficient utilisation of the inputs devoted to maize production is equally important from the point of view of the environment and the profit for the farmers. For analysing the question I have examined the production data of Hungarian FADN farms producing more than 5 hectares of maize during 2003-2006. This way taking the four years’ data I have concluded the analysis of 2982 individual and 761 corporate farms. For analysis purposes I have calculated the total direct cost spent on the production of 1 ton of grain maize and grouped the farms into 5 even groups according to this.
