Rice blast is a one of the most important rice disease. It could cause severe yield damage. Therefore, it is vital for rice improvement aiming for blast resistance especially for those containing as good cooking quality as Khao Dawk Mali 105 (KDML105); Khao’ Jao Hawm Phitsanulok 1 (HPSL1) belongs to this group except a slightly longer maturity than that of KDML105. Nowadays, molecular technology has been used for a greater efficiency in selection through a marker assisted selection. DNA primers specific to gene(s) or QTLs related to rice blast defense mechanism were developed. In this study, a cross between HPSL1 and two donors; P280-2 and P280-5 was carried out.
