| Agent Orange Day, 10th August, is a day for us to remember the raison d'être of the organics movement. It was on this day, 51 years ago, that the USA embarked on the most audacious and extensive program of chemical warfare that the world has witnessed. Continuously, over a decade (1961-1971), vast swathes of Vietnam's forests, waterways, and croplands were drenched and re-drenched in high dosage agricultural herbicides, reportedly up to 50 times the recommended dosages. The US military intention was to denude the land of forests and crops, and, on these crude terms, it was a success. | Forschung zur Weiterentwicklung der Ökologischen Landwirtschaft ist vielfach und in hohem Maße anwendungsorientiert und weist einen hohen Praxisbezug auf. Gleichzeitig werden Beiträge der Forschung zur Weiterentwicklung der Praxis durch die gängigen Bewertungsverfahren von Forschung nur sehr unzureichend erfasst, was die praxisorientierte Forschung in der Ökologischen Landwirtschaft abwertet bzw. diese zunehmend zwingt, sich von umsetzungsbezogenen Fragestellungen abzuwenden, wenn positive Evaluierungen erreicht werden sollen. | The empirical analysis of the historical development of transdisciplinary co-production of knowledge (CPK) in organic agriculture (OA) in Switzerland has revealed three distinct phases. The initial phase shows various characteristics of transdisciplinary CPK and a high importance of experiential knowledge. | Swedish research on organic farming is to a large extent funded by directed calls for research on organic food systems. These funders are the research council Formas, SLU EkoForsk at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, the Swedish Board of Agriculture and the Ekhaga foundation. Furthermore, the Swedish Farmers’ Foundation for Agricultural Research (SLF) is funding research on organic farming within their ordinary research programmes, and the projects addressing organic farming are reported here. | Ist die Bestimmung des "Social Return On Investment (SROI)" ein geeignetes Werkzeug, den sozialen, ökologischen und gesellschaftlichen Mehrwert Sozialer Landwirtschaft zu messen?
