Rice seed accelerated aging for longevity evaluation in humid tropic was conducted in order to study the temperature and optimum duration for evaluation of seed longivity at Krabi Rice Research Center during 2012-2013. Rice seeds from rice planted in both wet and dry seasons were used. By storing the rice seeds in plastic bags at room temperature and every month rice seeds were monitored and quality testing, another part seeds were aged in nearly 100 percent relative humidity at 40, 42, 44 and 46 0C for 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours. Seed germination from each temperature and time accelerated aging was correlated to seed stored in plastic bags at room temperature. The result showed that rice seed at moisture content below 12 percent in plastic bag could be... |
