A new glandular Mimosa species from Southern Brazil and insights about its glandular trichomes micromorphology Acta Botanica
Silveira,Fernanda Schmidt; Vargas,Wanderleia de; Fortuna-Perez,Ana Paula; Miotto,Silvia Teresinha Sfoggia.
ABSTRACT Mimosa baptistae is a new species presenting stalked glandular trichomes that give it a glutinous appearance, mainly with respect to the leaflets. Furthermore, it is an aculeate species, with multijugate leaves, white stamens, and fruits also covered by glandular trichomes. A herbaria survey and fieldwork only recorded this species as occurring on sandstone outcrops of the city Caçapava do Sul, Brazil. The species may be confused with other species of Mimosa sect. Batocaulon ser. Stipellares such as M. bifurca, M. sobralii and M. lepidota. However, features such as absence/presence of aculei, stamens color, habitat, and flower features are useful for distinguishing them from the new species. Here, we provide notes on morphology, geographic...

Novelties in secretory structures and anatomy of Rhynchosia(Fabaceae) Anais da ABC (AABC)
VARGAS,WANDERLEIA DE; SARTORI,ÂNGELA L.B.; DIAS,EDNA S..
A comparative anatomical study was carried out on the secretory structures of leaflets from taxa belonging to the genus Rhynchosia - taxa difficult to delimit because of uncertain interspecific relations - in order to evaluate the potential diagnostic value of these anatomical traits for taxonomic assignment. A further objective was to establish consensual denomination for these secretory structures. The new anatomical features found in these taxa were sufficiently consistent to separate the species evaluated. The presence and localization of glandular-punctate structures bulbous-based trichomes, the number of layers in the palisade parenchyma and the arrangement of vascular units distinguish the taxa investigated and these characteristics can be extended...

Number of leaflets on rooting of lychee herbaceous cuttings Ciência Rural
Alves,Ediane Conceição; Guimarães,João Emmanuel Ribeiro; Franco,Camila Kauffmann Becaro; Martins,Antonio Baldo Geraldo.
ABSTRACT: Lychee is one of the most popular exotic fruits in Brazil, and has both in natura and industrial potential. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the influence of the number of leaflets on lychee herbaceous cuttings treated with the indolebutyric acid (1000mg L-1). The experimental design was completely randomized, with 4 replications and 10 cuttings per experimental plot. Treatments consisted of cuttings with zero (0), one (1), two (2), three (3), and four (4) leaflets. After 180 days, the rooting and survival percentages and the number and length of roots were evaluated. The data were subjected to polynomial regression analysis. The increase in the number of leaflets was advantageus for all studied variables, with an increase in...

Modifications on Labels and Leaflets of Herbicides for Preventing and Managing Resistance Planta Daninha
CARVALHO,S.J.P.; ROSSI,C.V.S.; MELO,M.S.C.; CHRISTOFFOLETI,P.J.; KAGI,F.Y..
ABSTRACT: The challenge of managing herbicide-resistant weeds is an agricultural reality in Brazil that shall not be neglected. In this sense, Ministério da Agricultura, Pecuária e Abastecimento (MAPA) published Act No. 45 on July 14, 2017, provides the inclusion of a code system on labels and leaflets of insecticides, fungicides and herbicides, in order to demonstrate the mode of action of the active ingredient present in the product. In case of mix formulations, both molecules must be discriminated, adopting the same “Herbicide Resistance Action Committee - HRAC” international reference code. The Act No. 45 facilitates the process to choose and adopt products by all those involved in the chain production. It also collaborates with the possible to...
