ABSTRACT With the limited availability of water in semi-arid regions, it is necessary that irrigation is accurate and there is high water use efficiency. This study aimed to evaluate the regulated deficit irrigation (RDI) and partial rootzone drying (PRD) in yield, water use efficiency and gas exchange of ‘Tommy Atkins’ mango tree in semi-arid conditions. The experimental design was a randomized block with seven treatments for RDI under micro sprinkler and five treatments for the PRD under drip. Treatments were applied in phases PI - early blooming to early fruit expansion, PII - early expansion to early physiologic ripening and in phase III - physiologic ripening of fruits, with application of the RDI of 100, 75 and 50 % of ETc in different combinations... |

O objetivo deste Comunicado Técnico é explorar os benefícios da adição de lignina de tegumento de semente de manga sobre as propriedades de filmes de amido de milho 1 e sua possível aplicabilidade. Já são bem conhecidos os problemas ambientais associados ao descarte maciço e contínuo de materiais plásticos de uso único, a exemplo das embalagens de alimentos, além dos esforços de pesquisa realizados no sentido de substituir, pelo menos parcialmente, os polímeros derivados de petróleo, geralmente usados como matrizes de tais materiais. Na Embrapa Agroindústria Tropical, diversos estudos têm sido desenvolvidos objetivando o desenvolvimento de filmes à base de compostos extraídos de subprodutos de manga, em um contexto de biorrefinaria. |

Species in the Botryosphaeriaceae are well known as pathogens and saprobes of woody hosts, but little is known about the species that occur in Iran. In a recent survey of this family in Iran two fungi with diplodia-like anamorphs were isolated from various tree hosts. These two fungi were fully characterised in terms of morphology of the anamorphs in culture, and sequences of the ITS1/ITS2 regions of the ribosomal DNA operon and partial sequences of the translation elongation factor 1-α. Phylogenetic analyses placed them within a clade consisting of Barriopsis and Phaeobotryon species, but they were clearly distinct from known species in these genera. The aim of this study was to evaluate the 'Tommy Atkins' mango yield and photosynthesis in regulated deficit irrigation (RDI) in semiarid conditions of Bahia, Brazil. The experimental design was a randomized block with five treatments and six replications: T1, irrigation supplying 100% crop evapotranspiration (ETc) in phases: I (beginning of flowering to early fruit growth), II (start of expansion until early physiological maturity) and phase III (physiologically mature fruits); T2, RDI with 50% ETc in phase I; T3, RDI with 50% ETc in phase II; T4, RDI with 50% ETc in phase III; T5, No irrigation.
