Objetivou-se avaliar a conservação pós-colheita de frutos de melão tipo cantaloupe (Cucumis melo L var. Cantaloupensis ), genótipo Nun 3984, colhido nos estádios de maturação II ( frutos imaturos em início de descoloração e pedúnculo totalmente preso) e IV (frutos com pedúnculo totalmente rachado), em seis períodos de armazenamento: 0; 5; 10;15; 20 e 25 dias. Os frutos foram provenientes do Agropolo Mossoró-Assu (RN), cujo clima é caracterizado como quente e seco, com temperaturas máxima e mínima de 33ºC e 29ºC, respectivamente. O armazenamento foi realizado a 20ºC e 50% UR. The objective was to relate the coloration of fruits of Jatropha curcas L during the maturation process with morphometric (fruits and seeds) and germinative characteristics (seeds). Fruits were collected at various maturation stages from mast trees located in Eldorado/MS, and six maturation stages were visually classified based on fruit's epicarp color. Epicarp digital colorimetry was used to characterize maturation stages in addition to morphometric variables of length and width of fruits and seeds, as well their water content. For determining the physiological potential it was used germination test, emergence velocity index and first count of germination. ABSTRACT The intrinsic characteristics of the vegetative propagule may influence the rooting speed and shoot growth, as well as the final physiological quality of clonal seedlings of Coffea canephora. The aim of this study was to evaluate the growth and physiological quality of ‘Robusta’ coffee seedlings produced from propagules (stem cuttings) with different cutting ages. The study was conducted in a greenhouse, in the district of Ouro Preto do Oeste, in Rondônia, Brazil (10˚45’43” S and 62˚15’10” W). The ages of the cuttings were 30, 60, 90, 120 and 150 days, corresponding to five positions on the secondary orthotropic stem (sprout), from the apex to the base.
