Investigation and technical comparison of new and conventional wheat combines performance for improvement and modification CIGR Journal
Mohammad Reza Mostofi; member of academic staff(PhD); M. Shaker; A. Mahdinia.
Wheat is one of the most important food staff in consumption pattern of each country.  More than 50% of human energy is supplied from bread in developing countries.  Reducing of losses and waists in combine harvesting resulte increasing considerable wheat production in country.  Combine loss is less than 2%-3% in developed countries, while that of developing countries is about 15%-20% in different regions and circumstances of harvesting seasons and field conditions.  Regarding to research finding that maximum total combine losses are related to combine header loss, so it is necessary to determine precise losses and their causes to improve and modify existing combine's technical characteristics.  In this national research project that took place in three...

Developing a machine for shredding agricultural residues CIGR Journal
Hashem, Fetouh Raafat.
Nowadays, the development of animal and poultry production needs to exert more efforts to increase and maintain high levels of feeding crop, in addition to improve the quality and quantity by decreasing losses during pre- processing operation and reducing the consumed energy. Our objective is to design various components of an Impact chopper like drive mechanism, shaft, rotor, hammers, casing, and discharge mechanism which will be useful in minimizing weight, cost and maximizing the capacity and also do their analysis. Impact choppers involve the use of impact rather than pressure to cut materials. The cutting process of agriculture plants is more complicated than the cutting of engineering materials (as steel, copper …etc.). This is due to that most of...

Determination of nuclear transcription factor activity using a modified electrophoretic mobility shift assay BABT
Wang,Yong; Huang,Wenhua; Peng,Daizhi; Hu,Yuanbin.
In this work, several major procedures of the electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA) were modified including swift extraction of the nucleic protein, labeling of the probe and radioautography. The modified assay required shorter time, simplified the nucleic protein extraction, increased the radioactivity of the labeling probe, skipped the tedious process of gel drying, and produced clear images. Its results were comparable, reproducible and stable. It thus has merited for wide application.

A new approach to chemical modification protocols of Aspergillus niger and sorption of lead ion by fungal species Electron. J. Biotechnol.
Rafiu Awofolu,Omotayo; Okechukwu Okonkwo,Jonathan; Roux-Van Der Merwe,Renate; Badenhorst,Jackie; Jordaan,Erika.
Biomasses of five fungi species (Aspergillus niger, Penicillium austurianum, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Mucor arcindloides and Trichoderma reesi were evaluated for their uptake of lead ion from aqueous solution using batch systems. Both dead and live fungal biomasses were comparatively studied for their adsorption efficiencies. The effect of pH as one of the primary factors that influences sorption efficiency of metal ions in solution was also studied. Modification of the fungal biomass with the least sorption capacity was carried out using a four-step procedure. Three different modifying agents under the optimised experimental conditions were used. The percentage uptake of lead ion by fungi species ranged from: Aspergillus niger: 6.71-64.95% and...

Exopolysaccharides produced by marine bacteria and their applications as glycosaminoglycan-like molecules ArchiMer
Delbarre-ladrat, Christine; Sinquin, Corinne; Lebellenger, Lou; Zykwinska, Agata; Colliec-jouault, Sylvia.
Although polysaccharides are ubiquitous and the most abundant renewable bio-components, their studies, covered by the glycochemistry and glycobiology fields, remain a challenge due to their high molecular diversity and complexity. Polysaccharides are industrially used in food products; human therapeutics fall into a more recent research field and pharmaceutical industry is looking for more and more molecules with enhanced activities. Glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) found in animal tissues play a critical role in cellular physiological and pathological processes as they bind many cellular components. Therefore, they present a great potential for the design and preparation of therapeutic drugs. On the other hand, microorganisms producing exopolysaccharides (EPS)...

Influence of soil and climate variability in the growth of eucalyptus clones in Bahia Northeast PFB - Pesquisa Florestal Brasileira

The Application and Modification of Delegation - Agent Model in Agricultural Insurance AgEcon
Xue, Hai-Lian; Zhang, Hai-Xia.
The delegation-agent models in agricultural assurance are established both under the circumstances of information symmetry and information asymmetry. Insurers choose effort level —a* according to the first order optimal condition of at the present stage when the information is symmetric. While the information is asymmetric, the first order optimal condition changed into . In other words, the higher the output, the more and more income of insured. The paper also modifies the models, when the information is symmetric, the insurers determine the effort level of insured—a* based on the first order optimal condition of ; to the contrary, the first order optimal condition would change into . The results show that the insured and the insurers would both benefit...

การพัฒนาวัสดุเพาะและการใช้ประโยชน์จากกากต้นอ่อนข้าวสาลี Thai Agricultural
Satid Pinmanee; Silawan Chantharabut; Kanjana Piboon.
Optimized wheatgrass planting material served perfectly seedling and clean. The effect of five difference planting materials to wheatgrass, cut rice stems, sand, soil, paper and no material was investigated. It indicated that at first wheatgrass harvesting (7 days after planting), sand, soil and paper planting materials served higher fresh weight, higher juice quantities and the waste after extracted of wheatgrass than cut rice stems material and nomaterial served. Second harvesting (after five days of first harvesting) at equal seedling number comparison, cut rice stems material served higher fresh weight, and higher juice quantities of wheatgrass than other materials served. After extracted, the waste of wheatgrass can be increased value by product...
