| A aplicação de N em cobertura é indispensável para a obtenção de altas produtividades do feijoeiro e estudos de respostas ao fertilizante em condições de semeadura direta e preparo convencional do solo ainda consistem numa necessidade fundamental. Assim, a pesquisa teve como objetivo avaliar o efeito da aplicação de N e a produtividade do feijoeiro em sistema de semeadura direta e de preparo convencional do solo. O delineamento experimental foi o de blocos casualizados em esquema fatorial (2x8+1) com quatro repetições. | O adequado suprimento de N é primordial para se obter alta produtividade de sementes de feijão, entretanto, as respostas a esse nutriente, em sistema de plantio direto, podem variar em função da espécie e quantidade de palha. On immature and young mature palm trees, rhinoceros beetles are the serious pest. This harm created by the pest resulted in greater crop loss owing to beetle harm in the first year of harvest. | A field experiment was conducted for ten years in a sandy soil in the north part of the Paraná State, Brazil. The soil samples were collected at 0-10 cm depth, both under the coffee canopy and in the inter row space between the coffee plants, in the following treatments: Control, Leucaena leucocephala, Crotalaria spectabilis, Crotalaria breviflora, Mucuna pruriens, Mucuna deeringiana, Arachis hypogaea and Vigna unguiculata. | O coeficiente de cultura (Kc) do melão é importante para estimar a necessidade de água e para manejar eficientemente a irrigação. Com este trabalho objetivou-se avaliar um modelo matemático para estimar o Kc do meloeiro, em função dos dias após o plantio. O modelo matemático avaliado estimou, satisfatoriamente, os valores do coeficiente de cultura, porém as épocas de maior Kc não variaram com os tratamentos, mas alteraram os valores de Kc máximo e a taxa de crescimento absoluta máxima. | SUMMARY Temperature modification in soil of plastic greenhouse caused by solarization was measured during the summer in the Subtropical Central Region of the Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil. The experiment was carried out in a 10m x 25m greenhouse covered with low density transparent polyethylene (PE). Four 6m x 4m plots were mulched with 100µm thickness PE sheets, from December 12, 1992 to March 7, 1993. Four other plots (same size) without the cover were used as control (bare soil). Results indicated that solarization incrased the maximum soil temperature. The average was 11.9, 10.8, 9.8, and 8.6°C over uncovered control soil at 2, 5, 10, and 20cm depth, respectively. | En manglares de Marismas Nacionales, Nayarit se analizaron 300 muestras compuestas de suelo colectadas mediante el método de la barrena para analizar el contenido de CS en dos temporadas: lluvias (año 2004) y sequía (año 2005), por el método del analizador. De la temporada de sequía se tomaron 46 muestras para cada componente edáfico: fracción mineral del suelo, biomasa subterránea y mantillo, a las cuales se les evaluó además N, S, P, K, Ca, Mg, pH, CE y textura.
