El estudio de ecotoxicidad y fitorremediación de un Gleysol (GL) contaminado con petróleo fresco (PF) e intemperizado (PI) y sulfatos solubles (S-SO4), se realizo para seleccionar indicadores de toxicidad biológicos, evaluar el potencial del pasto japonesa (PJ) en la descontaminación de estos suelos, la presencia de S-SO4 en su interacción con los hidrocarburos, las bacterias sulfato reductoras y actividad enzimática de la arilsulfatasa (ASA). Dos GLs se usaron para establecer los bioensayos (BIO). El BIO1 con nueve tratamientos [T1: 2 607 (biogénico), T2: 6 000, T3: 10 000, T4: 30 000, T5: 60 000, T6: 90 000, T7: 120 000. ABSTRACT To maintain seed and soil quality of pumpkin, energy knowledge associated with processing and storage stages is strategic for the optimization of the thermodynamic processes needed for product stabilization. Thus, the objective of this study was to determine isosteric heat, differential entropy, and Gibbs free energy within a temperature range from 20 to 70° C, and relative air humidity levels between 10.75 and 85.11%. The study was based on empirical data for water activity determination. As a result, we verified that as moisture content decreased, the integral isosteric heat of the product increased from 2502.35 to 6231.17 kJ kg-1, differential entropy raised from 1.18 to 12.43 kJ kg-1 K-1, and Gibbs free energy ranged from -243.84 to -432.59 kJ...

Physical characteristics of oily spraying liquids and droplets formed on coffee leaves and glass surfaces REA

The physical characteristics of a spray liquid are important in getting a good droplet formation and control efficiency over a particular target. As a function of these characteristics, it is possible to decipher which is the best adjuvant based on the respective concentration used during the spray. Therefore, ten spraying liquids were prepared, which varied in concentrations of pesticide lufenuron + profenofos, mineral oil, water and manganese sulfate. Pendant droplets formed from these mixtures were measured to examine their impact on surface tension. На основе собственных исследований и анализа литературных данных обсуждается бактериальная трансформация нефтяных углеводородов как составная часть самоочищения моря от нефти. Анализируются различные факторы, влияющие на скорость и полноту трансформации нефтяных углеводородов в прибрежной зоне моря. Указывается, что знание этих процессов позволит эффективно управлять экологическим состоянием в прибрежной зоне моря.

Впервые в условиях черноморской бухты получены данные о количественном содержании липидно-углеводородного комплекса в прибрежных наносах. Отмечено превышение количества нефтяных углеводородов над биогенными, что свидетельствует о постоянном нефтяном загрязнении акватории.

Потоки нефтяных углеводородов через морские организмы IBSS Repository

На основе имеющихся многолетних материалов по взаимодействию морских организмов с нефтяным загрязнением проведена оценка потоков нефтяных углеводородов через некоторые организмы. Установлено, что в Севастопольской бухте через бактериальное сообщество морской воды и донных осадков в год трансформируется 4.4 т и 0.02 т нефтяных углеводородов соответственно. Мидиями в обрастании причалов Севастопольской бухты аккумулируется 0.15 т нефтяных углеводородов. Потенциально (по расчетным данным) зоопланктонное сообщество бухты может накапливать и переносить 15 т нефти в сутки. Обсуждается возможность потоков нефтяных углеводородов через другие организмы.

Visando ao levantamento da composicao centesimal e dos oleos dos frutos de pupunha, foram coletados, no Banco de Germoplasma do Instituto Nacional de Pesquisa da Amazonia (Inpa), materiais de cinco racas consideradas mais importantes do ponto de vista de producao de frutos. A composicao do oleo dessas racas proporcionou estudo estatistico preliminar quanto ao numero de plantas que forneceriam os frutos. No trabalho sao apresentados: media de umidade, materia seca, oleo, nitrogenio e proteina bruta.

The airborne identification of oil films at the Caspian sea surface using CO2 lidar ArchiMer

Contrast in the reflectivity between pure and contaminated sea surfaces is the result of two effects, namely: (1) the different reflectivity of sea water and oil films on sea water, and (2) the damping effect by the oil film on the sea waves. The problem is to estimate the contribution of these two effects on the total contrast, so that the substance effect can be calculated. Magnitude is related to the oil film thickness. The spectral behaviour of the contrast and its relationship with the film thickness were calculated for an undisturbed sea surface. The estimate of the damping effect was made using the Cox and Munk's slope distributions for pure and contaminated surfaces. Avoidance threshold to oil water soluble fraction by a juvenile marine teleost fish ArchiMer

When oil spills occur, behavior is the first line of defense for a fish to avoid being contaminated. Here, we determined the avoidance threshold of the European seabass (Dicentrarchus labrax) to the water-soluble fraction (WSF) of oil using a dual flow choice box. Our experiment revealed that a plume of 20%-diluted WSF (total PAH concentration: 8.54 μg L-1) triggered a significant avoidance response that was detected within 7.5 minutes of introducing WSF-contaminated water in the experimental set-up. However, the ecological relevance of seabass capacity to detect and avoid WSF remains to be established. In the short term, such response is indeed liable to reduce sea bass contact time with oil-contaminated water and thus preserve their functional integrity....

Background: Different parts of the tree Calophyllum inophyllum L. (nuts, leaves, roots, bark, fruits, nut oil and resin) are used as traditional medicines and cosmetics in most of the Pacific Islands. The oil efficiency as a natural cure and in traditional cosmetics has been largely described throughout the South Pacific, which led us to investigate C. inophyllum's chemical and genetic diversity. Scientific evidence supports flaxseed consumption; however, a large sector of the population is still unaware of the benefits associated to its consumption and its possible applications as functional food ingredient in foodstuffs. Flaxseed is mainly known by its high alpha-linolenic acid content, but it is also a lignan source, soluble fibre and protein, compounds which are biologically active in the prevention of some non-transmissible chronic diseases. Southern Chile has comparative advantages for the cultivation of this crop. Together with its full processing, this crop could strengthen regional industry. The purpose of the present review is to highlight the nutritional properties of flaxseed.

Una marea negra provocada por el vertido deliberado o accidental de crudos de petróleo, aceite combustible, fangos o residuos petrolíferos y productos refinados, provoca un gran impacto sobre los ecosistemas marinos y costeros. En este trabajo, se desarrolla un producto compuesto por bacterias marinas inmovilizadas por atrapamiento en k- carragenina semirrefinada y en cuya formulación no se incluyen nutrientes. Los resultados muestran que la variante de inmovilización más ventajosa se obtuvo cuando fue empleada la κ-carragenina al 1% gelificada con una solución de KCL 1.5 M.
