Use of vermicompost as a substrate for the production of Eucalyptus grandis and Corymbia citriodora seedlings PFB - Pesquisa Florestal Brasileira
Steffen, Gerusa Pauli Kist; Antoniolli, Zaida Inês; Steffen, Ricardo Bemfica; Schiedeck, Gustavo.
The aim of this work was to evaluate the vermicompost efficiency in the seedlings of two eucalyptus species production. The experiment was developed in greenhouse conditions, substrate constituted by different vermicompost proportions and peat for the E. grandis and C. citriodora seedling production. The experimental design was entirely casualized with seven treatments and eight repetitions. After 100 days of experiment were evaluated: seedling height, fresh and dry biomass of aerial part, root volume, dry biomass of the root and Dickson quality index (DQI). The treatment constituted by 80% vermicompost and 20% peat presented the highest results in height, root volume and dry mass of the aerial part and roots. For the species C. citriodora was observed...

Closed soilless growing system for producing strawberry bare root transplants and runner tips PAB
Giménez,Gustavo; Andriolo,Jerônimo Luiz; Janisch,Djeimi; Godoi,Rodrigo.
The objective of this work was to test a closed soilless growing system for producing bare root transplants and runner tips of two strawberry clones, using two categories of substrates. The system used corrugated roofing panels of fiber-cement, over which a substrate layer was used as a growing bed. The nutrient solution was pumped from a reservoir toward the upper end of the roofing panels and drained back to a reservoir. Plant growth and development were determined for two advanced strawberry clones, grown in sand or in Plantmax organic substrate. Growth of the stock plants and the number and dry mass of bare root transplants were similar in the substrates, but bare roots differed in their crown diameters by substrate. For number of runner tips, no...

Production of chili pepper under organic fertilization and irrigation with treated wastewater AGRIAMBI
Silva,Viviane F.; Bezerra,Carlos V. C.; Nascimento,Elka C. S.; Ferreira,Tricia N. F.; Lima,Vera L. A.; Andrade,Leando O..
ABSTRACT With the occurrence of prolonged droughts in the Brazilian semi-arid region, water scarcity directly influences agriculture in this region, so that water reuse and bovine manure application become a viable alternative for pepper production. In this context, the present study aimed to evaluate the sustainable production of chili peppers (Capsicum frutescens) under levels of irrigation with treated wastewater and doses of bovine manure. The following bovine manure doses were considered: D1 (0% manure and 100% soil), D2 (10% manure and 90% soil), D3 (20% manure and 80% soil), D4 (30% manure and 70% soil), D5 (40% manure and 60% soil) and D6 (50% manure and 50% soil), based on volume. Three levels of irrigation were applied, based on the water...
