| A new species of Ostracoberyx, O. paxtoni n. sp. is described from eastern Australia. It is characterized by a lower number of gill rakers on the lower part of the gill arch and by differences in some morphometric characters (body depth, interorbital width, etc.). The marked difference in appearance between young and adults in O. paxtoni as well as in O. dorygenys are underlined. O. Tricornis is considered to be based on juvenile of O. dorygenys and is a junior synonym of the latter. NOT CONTROLLED OCR |
