Globe fringerush (Fimbristylis miliacea) cross resistance to als-inhibitor herbicides under field conditions in irrigated rice in the south of Brazil Planta Daninha
Schaedler,C.E.; Noldin,J.A.; Eberhardt,D.S.; Agostinetto,D.; Burgos,N.R..
ALS-inhibiting herbicides usually provide adequate weed control in irrigated rice fields. After consecutive years of use, the Cyperaceae species, globe fringerush (Fimbristylis miliacea) began to show resistance to ALS (acetolactate synthase) inhibitors. Globe fringerush is one of the most problematic herbicide-resistant weeds in irrigated rice in the state of Santa Catarina in the South of Brazil. The objective of this research was to examine cross resistance of globe fringerush to ALS inhibitors, under field conditions. Two experiments were conducted in a rice field naturally infested with ALS-resistant globe fringerush in Santa Catarina, in the 2008/09 and 2009/10 cropping seasons. The experimental units were arranged in randomized complete block...

Germination and growth of Fimbristylis miliacea biotypes resistant and susceptible to acetolactate synthase-inhibiting herbicides Planta Daninha
Schaedler,C.E.; Noldin,J.A.; Agostinetto,D.; Dal Magro,T.; Fontana,L.C..
Weed biotypes resistant and susceptible to herbicides may have differences in their adaptive values. The aims of this study were to compare, under controlled and non-competitive condition, the growth analysis, germination features and seed weight of Fimbristylis miliacea (FIMMI) biotypes resistant and susceptible to acetolactate synthase (ALS) inhibiting herbicides. Experiments were conducted in a greenhouse and in a laboratory from October 2008 to February 2010. Two resistant biotypes (FIMMI 10 and FIMMI 12) and one susceptible biotype (FIMMI 13) were used for the studies. For the study on growth analysis, the treatments were arranged in a completely randomized experimental design with four replications and sampled at 21, 28, 35, 42, 49, 56, 69 days after...

Barnyardgrass with Multiple Resistance to Synthetic Auxin, ALS and Accase Inhibitors Planta Daninha
EBERHARDT,D.S.; OLIVEIRA NETO,A.M.; NOLDIN,J.A.; VANTI,R.M..
ABSTRACT The objective of this research was to confirm the resistance of a barnyardgrass biotype (Echinochloa crus-galli) to herbicides quinclorac (synthetic auxin), penoxsulam (ALS inhibitor) and cyhalofop-butyl (ACCase inhibitor). Two experiments were carried out in a greenhouse located in Itajaí, State of Santa Catarina, Brazil. One experiment evaluating the biotype ECH 18 (known as susceptible) and one with the ECH 141 biotype (suspected to be multiple resistant). The experimental design used was completely randomized, in a 4 x 7 factorial arrangement with four replications. The first factor was the herbicide: cyhalofop-butyl (Clincher(r)), penoxsulam (Ricer(r)), quinclorac (Facet(r)) and propanil (Grassaid(r)) and the second factor consisting of seven...

การพัฒนาวิธีการประเมินคุณภาพข้าวเปลือกชื้นภายใต้ระบบตรวจสอบคุณภาพ Thai Agricultural
Suptra Suwanthada; Kunya Cheaupun; Sa-ang Chairin.
Development on quality evaluation methodology of moist paddy aimed to develop rapid and accurated technologies for moist paddy quality evaluation was comprised of 3 activities, as 1. Comparative of moist paddy in various levels of impurities. 2. Comparison of milling recovery rate in brown rice and milled rice. 3. Development on rapid milling recovery testing methodology. The moist paddy from Phitsanulok, Phichit, Sukhothai, Kamphangphet and Uttaradit farmer field were sampled. The sample no.1-63 were harvested from June to early October,2009. The sample no. 64–107 and 108–170 were harvested from late October 2009 to January 2010 and March to July 2010. The moisture content was investigated with moisture tester, Kett PM-400, and oven method, 130 o C 2 hrs....

In vitro effect of Bacillus thuringiensis strains and Cry proteins in phytopathogenic fungi of paddy rice-field BJM
Knaak,Neiva; Rohr,Angelise Ana; Fiuza,Lidia Mariana.
Cry1Ab and Cry1Ac strains and proteins synthesized by Bacillus thuringiensis thuringiensis and B. thuringiensis kurstaki were assessed in the following phytopathogens: Rhizoctonia solani,Pyricularia grisea,Fusarium oxysporum and F. solani, which had their micelial growth decreased after incubation in the presence of the bacterial strains. As to Cry proteins, there were no inhibition halo development in the assessed concentrations.

Endozoochorous dispersal of seeds of weedy rice (Oryza sativa L.) and barnyardgrass (Echinochloa crus-galli L.) by cattle Ciência Rural
Viero,João Luis Carricio; Schaedler,Carlos Eduardo; Azevedo,Eduardo Bohrer de; Santos,João Vitor Ail dos; Scalcon,Ricardo de Mello; David,Diego Bitencourt de; Rosa,Fabiane Quevedo da.
ABSTRACT: The objective of this study was to evaluate endozoochory dispersal, recuperation, and germination of weedy rice (Oryza sativa L.) and barnyardgrass (Echinochloa crus-galli L.) seeds passed through the digestive system of cattle. The experiment was divided into two phases: first, the daily seed recuperation rate was determined after passing through the digestive system of six steers. Each animal was dosed individually with 1000 weedy rice seeds and 13,818 barnyardgrass seeds, and these seeds were subsequently collected from feces. In the second phase, seed germination and emergence rate after passing or not passing through the digestive system of cattle were determined in two types of substrates (fecal plaque and soil) in a 2×2 factorial design....
