Tachoires, Stéphanie.
ln the Pertuis charentais shallow area, located between the mainland and the Ré and Oléron islands, marin space is in dispute between the severals stakeholders. The fishing in this area is permitted by a licencing policy and is strongly affected by the space competition. lts future is also uncertain because of the state of the fishing stocks, the new regulations which must be implemented. Given this context, this study aims to assess the evolution and adaptation abilities of the exploitation system in the Pertuis charentais facing the change of the socio-technic context. A fleet-metier based approach of the small scale fishing activity in the French West Indies ArchiMer
Guyader, Olivier; Reynal, Lionel; Demaneche, Sebastien; Berthou, Patrick; Daures, Fabienne.
The development of the ecosystemic approach for fisheries supposes to improve integrated analysis of fisheries by considering the biological as well as the socio-economic dimensions of the exploitation. A prerequisite for integrated analysis is the improvement in the knowledge of fleets structure, fleet evolution and allocation of fishing effort in the different fisheries. However, small scale fisheries are often characterized by a lack of knowledge on the vessel fishing activity. This paper first presents a data collection methodology recently applied in the French West (Guadeloupe and Martinique) for the follow up of the whole vessel population. Based on a statistical analysis of these data sets, the paper develops a fleet-metier matrix giving the...

Etude des activites halieutiques le long du littoral. Releves thermographiques en baie de la Possession et en baie de Saint Paul (La Réunion) ArchiMer
Bertrand, Jacques; Biais, Gerard; Taquet, Marc.
The follow-up of the activity of the boats practising offshore fishing in the North-West of the La Réunion Cbaies of the Possession and Paul Saint) was carried out over one year(April 86 - March 87) thanks to the application of a strategy of sampling allowing the collection of the following statistics: total effort and by machine, captures total and by species. The study allowed a first approach of the space-time distribution of the activity of the fleet. It reveals the very high participation of the yachtmen in the halieutic exploitation of the studied sector. It also highlights the importance of tunas in the captures, which in weight are largely majority.
