Cultivation Systems, Vegetable Soil Covers and their Influence on the Phytosocyology of Weeds Planta Daninha
FORTE,C.T.; GALON,L.; BEUTLER,A.N.; REICHERT JR.,F.W.; MENEGAT,A.D.; PERIN,G.F.; TIRONI,S.P..
ABSTRACT: Phytosociological studies are groups of methods that aim at the identification, composition and distribution of plant species in a community. The objective of this study was to identify and quantify the main weeds found in beans, maize and soybean cultivated in no-tillage and conventional systems. The experimental design was a randomized block one, with four replications. Experiments were conducted during three consecutive years, with summer crop (bean, maize and soybean) treatments, no-tillage system (NTS) composed by the covers, black oat, vetch and forage radish, in addition to their intercrop. In the conventional planting system (CTS), the area was left fallow in the off-season. The shoot dry matter of the covers was evaluated in each crop....

Occurrence of Weeds in Areas Submitted to Tillage Managements for Soybean Cultivation in the Cerrado of Roraima Planta Daninha
MENEZES,P.H.S.; ALBUQUERQUE,J.A.A.; SMIDERLE,J.O.; MEDEIROS,R.D.; ALVES,J.M.A.; GIANLUPPI,D..
ABSTRACT: Weeds from soils submitted to different tillage managements were identified in two consecutive years of soybean cultivation in the Cerrado of Roraima. The study was carried out in three areas: native area (NA), mechanically mowed native area (MA), and limed area (LA). A descriptive analysis of the phytosociological parameters relative density (Drr), relative frequency (Frr), relative dominance (Dor), importance value index (IVI), and index of relative importance (IRI) was performed to interpret the results. The weed similarity index (SI) was also calculated in the assessed areas. The highest relative frequencies were observed for Trachypogon plumosus (40.92%), Bulbostylis capillaris (18.52%), and Spermacoce capitata (18.33%) in the native area...

A new index for assessing the value of importance of species - VIS Anais da ABC (AABC)
NETTO,SYLVIO PÉLLICO; AMARAL,MAURICIO K.; CORAIOLA,MARCIO.
ABSTRACT Phytosociological analysis in native forests is performed considering the horizontal and vertical structure of the studied population, whose most expressive parameters are the density, dominance, frequency, value of coverage and value of importance of species. Many phytosociological studies include a value of importance of species calculated by adding density, dominance and frequency, in their relative forms, however, this estimator is a mathematical impropriety because the result is a sum of indexes and does not express the true meaning of species' value. This is because the estimator is still influenced predominantly by the density of occurrence of species and cannot capture the relevant hierarchical participation of emerging species that occur...
