Inoculación de pinos de importancia forestal útiles en restauración de áreas degradadas con hongos comestibles ectomicorrízicos 32

Un criterio de selección de los hongos ectomicorrízicos (ECM) a utilizarse para inocular plantas en invernadero es su carácter de comestibilidad humana. El presente estudio evaluó el efecto de la inoculación con tres especies de hongos ECM (de los géneros Hebeloma, Laccaria y Suillus) los cuales son ampliamente utilizadas como alimento y comercializadas en mercados tradicionales mexicanos, solos o combinados, en el desarrollo de dos especies de pinos mexicanos nativos (Pinus greggii y Pinus pseudostrobus). En condiciones de invernadero 240 días después de la siembra se determinó el diámetro del tallo, peso seco aéreo, radical y total de las plantas, el porcentaje de colonización ECM, y se efectuó una caracterización morfológica de los morfotipos...

Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate preparation and staining methods used in the tetrazolium test for Pinus taeda seeds, with the definition of viability classes. The procedures carried out were those described in the rules for seed testing in Brazil and Association of Official Seed Analysts, as well as an alternative method for the tetrazolium test. For each procedure, different combinations of types of seed cuts, concentrations of tetrazolium salt, and exposure periods were used. The test conducted with the alternative procedure (longitudinal cut adjacent to the embryo and staining of only the half with the embryo) is the most practical. Consumption of Cinara spp. (Hemiptera, Aphididae) by Cycloneda sanguinea (Linnaeus, 1763) and Hippodamia convergens Guérin-Méneville, 1842 (Coleoptera, Coccinellidae) 92

Adults and larvae of coccinellids were observed feeding on populations of the giant conifer aphids Cinara spp. on Pinus spp., in Southern Brazil. The objective of this research is to evaluate the consumption capacity of Cycloneda sanguinea (Linnaeus, 1763) and Hippodamia convergens Guérin-Méneville, 1842 (Coleoptera, Coccinellidae) on these aphid species, in order to obtain information for biological control programs. Ten larvae of each predator species were fed with aphids of small size (nymphs of 1st and 2nd instars), and 10 with aphids of medium size (nymphs of 3rd and 4th instars), maintained under 15ºC, 20ºC and 25ºC, 12 h photophase and 70 ± 10% relative humidity.
