Prediction of metabolizable energy values in poultry offal meal for broiler chickens R. Bras. Zootec.
Silva,Edney Pereira da; Rabello,Carlos Bôa-Viagem; Albino,Luiz Fernando Teixeira; Ludke,Jorge Victor; Lima,Michele Bernardino de; Dutra Junior,Wilson Moreira.
This research aimed at generating and evaluating prediction equations to estimate metabolizable energy values in poultry offal meal. The used information refers to values of apparent and true metabolizable energy corrected for nitrogen balance (AMEn and TMEn) and for chemical composition of poultry offal meal. The literature review only included published papers on poultry offal meal developed in Brazil, and that had AMEn and TMEn values obtained by the total excreta collection method from growing broiler chickens and the chemical composition in crude protein (CP), ether extract (EE), mineral matter (MM), gross energy (GE), calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P). The general equation obtained to estimate AMEn values of poultry offal meal was: AMEn = -2315.69 +...

Dietary net energy mainly affects growth performance and pork quality of finishing pigs Scientia Agricola
Moreira,Camila de Araújo; Bonagúrio,Lucas Pimentel; Esteves,Lucas Antonio Costa; Sitanaka,Natália Yoko; Pozza,Paulo Cesar.
ABSTRACT The present study was carried out to evaluate the effect of net energy levels in diets for barrows, from 70 to 100 kg, on performance, plasma parameters and carcass characteristics. Two experiments were carried out: in the first (Experiment I), a metabolism assay was carried out to estimate the net energy (NE) of experimental diets. Twelve crossbred barrows, averaging 85.74 ± 6.80 kg initial body weight, were distributed in a randomized block design with two metabolizable energy (ME) levels (3100 and 3500 kcal kg–1) with six replicates and one animal per experimental unit. In the second (Experiment II), 45 castrated male pigs were used, averaging 70.10 ± 1.26 kg of initial body weight distributed in a randomized block design, with five NE levels...
