The Rio Grande do Sul is the main state producer and rice storer from Brazil, especially the region of the Western Frontier. The objective of this study was to identify the main critical points for the occurrence of insect pests in two rice storage units in the city of Itaqui, Border West of Rio Grande do Sul. Visual inspections were carried out in two storage units for receiving the crop 2010/2011 and two criteria were established, the existence of adult insects and the accumulation of impurities, waste grain and dust.
