Biokartoffeln Organic Eprints
Berner, Alfred; Böhm, Herwart; Buchecker, Kirsten; Dierauer, Hansueli; Dresow, Jana; Dreyer, Wilfried; Finck, Maria; Fuchs, Alexander; Keil, Sven; Keiser, Andreas; Kühne, Stefan; Landzettel, Christian; Mahnke-Plesker, Sylvia; Six, Roswitha; Speiser, Bernhard; Tamm, Lucius; Völkel, Günther.

Establishment of potato variety performance trials under growing regimes Organic Eprints
In order to select potato varieties suitable for organic production, information is required on yield, marketability, post-harvest storage performance and disease and pest resistance of different potato varieities grown under organic conditions. This project will aim to study selected potato varieitiess growing under organic conditions in order to provide information on the following: general field performance, with emphasis on characteristics important for organic conditions (e.g. speed of emergence, ground cover, foliage blight), and comparison with results from non-organic sites; yield and marketability prior to and after storage; the incidence of a range of common skin disorders (e.g. common scab, black scurf, silver scurf, black dot netted scab); the...

The influence of the fungal pathogen Mycocentrospora acerina on the proteome and polyacetylenes and 6- methoxymellein in organic and conventionally cultivated carrots (Daucus carota) during post harvest storage Organic Eprints
LOUARN, Sébastien; NAWROCKI, Arkadiusz; Edelenbos, Merete; JENSEN, Dan Funck; NØRREGAARD JENSEN, Ole; Collinge, David B.; Jensen, Birgit.
Carrots may have to be discarded during post harvest cold storage due to development of fungal infections, caused by, e.g., liquorice rot caused by Mycocentrospora acerina. Control of this disease is mainly based on cultural practice. We compared the susceptibility of carrots grown under conventional and organic agricultural practices. We have developed a bioassay for infection studies of M. acerina on carrots and observed that organic roots were more susceptible after one month storage than conventional ones but no differences were apparent after four or six months storage. Levels of three polyacetylenes (falcarinol, falcarindiol and falcarindiol-3-acetate) and the isocoumarin phytoalexin (6-methoxymellein) were analysed. No changes in individual and...
