Genetic parameters and simultaneous selection for root yield, adaptability and stability of cassava genotypes PAB
Farias Neto,João Tomé de; Moura,Elisa Ferreira; Resende,Marcos Deon Vilela de; Celestino Filho,Pedro; Augusto,Sebastião Geraldo.
The objective of this work was to estimate genetic parameters and to evaluate simultaneous selection for root yield and for adaptability and stability of cassava genotypes. The effects of genotypes were assumed as fixed and random, and the mixed model methodology (REML/Blup) was used to estimate genetic parameters and the harmonic mean of the relative performance of genotypic values (HMRPGV), for simultaneous selection purposes. Ten genotypes were analyzed in a complete randomized block design, with four replicates. The experiment was carried out in the municipalities of Altamira, Santarém, and Santa Luzia do Pará in the state of Pará, Brazil, in the growing seasons of 2009/2010, 2010/2011, and 2011/2012. Roots were harvested 12 months after planting, in...

Simultaneous selection for yield, stability, and adaptability of carioca and black beans PAB
Santos,Paulo Ricardo dos; Costa,Kleyton Danilo da Silva; Nascimento,Maxwel Rodrigues; Lima,Thalyson Vasconcelos; Souza,Yure Pequeno de; Costa,Antonio Félix da; Silva,José Wilson da.
Abstract: The objective of this work was to determine the efficiency of a simultaneous selection for yield, stability, and adaptability of bean genotypes of the carioca and black groups. In the 2016 harvest, two experiments were carried out in the state of Pernambuco, Brazil: one for the carioca group, with 20 genotypes, in the municipalities of Caruaru, Arcoverde, and Belém de São Francisco; and the other for the black group, with 12 genotypes, in the municipalities of Caruaru and Arcoverde. The parameters were estimated by mixed models, and selection was performed by the harmonic mean of the relative performance of genetic values, using three strategies: selection based on the predicted genetic value, without interaction; selection based on the predicted...

Stability and adaptability for wood volume in the selection of Eucalyptus saligna in three environments PAB
Oliveira,Thiago Wendling Gonçalves de; Paula,Rinaldo Cesar de; Moraes,Mario Luiz Teixeira de; Alvares,Clayton Alcarde; Miranda,Aline Cristina; Silva,Paulo Henrique Muller da.
Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the genotype x environment (GxE) interaction in open-pollinated Eucalyptus saligna progenies for simultaneous selection for greater stability and adaptability for wood volume, as well as to compare the selection strategies through combined and individual analyses in three environments. Three experiments were conducted in a randomized complete block design, with four replicates and six plants per plot, with 102 to 122 progenies. Three years after planting, survival rate and wood volume were evaluated. The genetic parameters were estimated by the maximum restricted likelihood and best linear unbiased prediction (REML/Blup) methods, and the stability and adaptability analysis was conducted using the...

Selection of corn cultivars for yield, stability, and adaptability in the state of Amazonas, Brazil PAB
Oliveira,Inocencio Junior de; Atroch,André Luiz; Dias,Miguel Costa; Guimarães,Lauro José; Guimarães,Paulo Evaristo de Oliveira.
Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate corn cultivars grown in the state of Amazonas, Brazil, which simultaneously show high grain yield, adaptability, and stability. The trials were carried out in seven environments in the state of Amazonas, in a randomized complete block design, with two replicates. The grain yield of 30 corn cultivars was evaluated in four growing seasons, from 2011/2012 to 2014/2015. The genetic parameters were estimated by the REML/Blup methodology. The selection for adaptability and stability was based on the predicted genetic value and on the harmonic mean of the relative performance of the genetic values. Despite the existence of genotype x environment interaction, cultivars with high adaptability and stability were...
