Anatomical and Functional Description of the Radius of White Footed Tamarin (Saguinus leucopus) International Journal of Morphology
Duque Parra,Jorge Eduardo; Vélez García,Juan Fernando; Barco Ríos,John.
Saguinus leucopus is a neotropical primate, endemic and monotypic of Colombia (South America), with few studies of its anatomy, whose morphology radius this key element of this quadruped locomotion arboreal animal remains unknown. This study describes the gross functional anatomy of the radius bone of white-footed tamarin (Saguinus leucopus). The study was based on eight specimens fixed with 10% formalin and extracted their radius them, describing the main features of the bony prominences, such as muscle and ligaments attachments and neurovascular pipes. The radius of Saguinus leucopus bony presents some prominences for muscles and ligaments attachments, in addition to the synovial cartilage regions to other parts of the forelimb. The various anatomical...

Macroanatomy of the Bones of Thoracic Limb of an Asian Elephant (Elephas maximus) International Journal of Morphology
Ahasan,. S. M. Lutful; Quasem,Md. Abul; Rahman,Mohammad Lutfur; Hasan,Rubyath Binte; Kibria,A. S. M. Golam; Shil,Subrata Kumar.
Bones of forelimb were studied from a prepared skeleton of an adult female Asian elephant (Elephas maximus) in Anatomy Museum of Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University to understand the morphological form and structure of Asian elephant forelimb. The angle was approximately 123 between caudal border of scapula and caudal border of humerus. The scapula, humerus and bones of the antebrachium (particularly the ulna) were massive bones. The bones of manus were the short and relatively small. The dorsal border of scapula extended from the level of proximal extremity of first rib to the middle of the 6th rib. Ventral angle of scapula articulated with humerus by elongated shaped glenoid cavity (cavitas glenoidalis) of scapula and head of humerus...
