| Shellfish areas usually receive a large number of introduced species. During the present project, we specially focused on 4 marine benthic molluscs introduced in shellfish areas along the Channel and Atlantic coasts of France: the gastropods Crepidula fornicata, Ocinebrellus inornatus and Cyclope neritea, and the bivalve Ruditapes philippinarum. Our study was conducted according to three main axes: (i) the characterization of introduction and expansion patterns of species within their newly colonized area. | Cette étude, qui a rassemblé les compétences des instances de l'Etat chargées de la surveillance du milieu littoral (DDE, DDASS, IFREMER, Université de La Rochelle) a permis de dresser, à la veille de l'an 2000, un bilan de la situation environnementale du littoral de la « mer des Pertuis». Ce bilan, diversifié dans sa présentation, passe en revue les points marquants de "l'état de santé" de l'environnement, qu'il s'agisse de pollutions ciblées (chimiques, bactériologiques) ou d'autres nuisances variées. Il met en exergue les points forts et les points faibles en matière d'environnement littoral, et rappelle les efforts mis en oeuvre par les différentes administrations chargées de sa surveillance. | The "Artificial reefs" and "Repopulating" issues have been tackled by the Ifremer for a number of years without reaching a clear cut point of view, mainly for lack of socio-economic elements necessary to a rigorous analysis of these devices and practices. During a mission in Japan in January 2006, some Japanese experts, have presented to the head of the Ifremer a few examples of realisations related to these fields and conducted in their country. The head of the Ifremer realised the scope of such devices in Japan and expressed the wish to see an in-depth study carried out over there.
