Perineal hernia occurs more frequently in non-castrated maledogs aged over five years. Surgical techniques for pelvicdiaphragm repair are varied, and can be employed aloneor associated with others and include the standard suturetechnique, transposition of the internal obturator muscle,transposition of the superficial gluteal muscle, transposition ofthe semitendinosus muscle, repair with synthetic or biologicalimplants, colopexy, and cistopexia.
