Rhynchocinetes holthuisi, a new shrimp from the Gulf of Aqaba, northern Red Sea (Crustacea: Decapoda: Rhynchocinetidae) Naturalis
Okuno, J..
A new rhynchocinetid shrimp, Rhynchocinetes holthuisi, is described and illustrated on the basis of five males, one female and three ovigerous females from the Gulf of Aqaba, northern Red Sea. This species is readily distinguished from four closely related species with arthrobranchs on the third maxilliped and the anterior two pereiopods in combination of the length of the stylocerite, the forms of the antennal basicerite and the endopod of male first pleopod, and meral and dactylar spinulation of the ambulatory pereiopods. It is considered to be an endemic species in the northern Red Sea.

Larval development of the rock shrimp Rhynchocinetes typus Milne Edwards, 1937 (Decapoda, Caridea) reared in the laboratory RChHN
DUPRÉ,ENRIQUE; FLORES,LUIS; PALMA,SERGIO.
The first description of the larval stages of a representative of the family Rhynchocinetidae from the southeastern Pacific coast of South América is presented. Larvae of the rock shrimp Rhynchocinetes typus, from rocky subtidal environment of the Chile-Pera coast were reared in the laboratory at 22 °C, salinity 32 and feeding with Anemia franciscana. Seven zoeal stages, which occur through 10 successive moults, are described and illustrated in detail. Morphological comparison made between R. typus and other congeneric and related species belonging to Rhynchocinetid showed the main characteristic for the diagnosis of zoeal stages are: (a) the pereiopods appear in the third stage, (b) the exopod of the antennae have six segments, and (c) no pleopods were...

The family Rhynchocinetidae Ortmann (Crustacea, Decapoda, Caridea) on the Brazilian coast Zoologia
Melo,Gustavo A. S. de.
The family Rhynchocinetidae Ortmann, 1890, presently in the superfamily Nematocarcinoidea Smith, 1884 and the genus Rhynchocinetes H. Milne Edwards, 1837, has always had a complex and controversial classification. Until recently, the only species known from the Brazilian coast was Rhynchocinetes rigens Gordon, 1936, which was transferred to the genus Cinetorhynchus. Rhynchocinetes typus H. Milne Edwards, 1837, the type-species of the genus, was known only from the eastern Pacific; but in the carcinological collection of the Museu de Zoologia da Universidade de São Paulo, a specimen of this species collected at Ubatuba, São Paulo was found; this is the first record of this species for the Brazilian coast. These two species are redescribed and illustrated.
