Effect of potassium sources and rates on arabica coffee yield, nutrition, and macronutrient export Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Solo
Mancuso,Mauricio Antonio Cuzato; Soratto,Rogério Peres; Crusciol,Carlos Alexandre Costa; Castro,Gustavo Spadotti Amaral.
The use of potassium (K) rock powder can be an alternative for K supply of crops. Thus, to reduce K fertilizer imports from abroad, possibilities of extracting this nutrient from Brazilian rocks are being studied. The objective was to evaluate the effect of phonolite rock powder (F2) as K source (Ekosil®) on the air-dried fruit yield, nutrition and macronutrient export of Arabica coffee. The experiment was carried out on a dystroferric Red Latosol (Typic Haplorthox), in Piraju, São Paulo State, Brazil, in the 2008/09 and 2009/10 growing seasons. The experimental design was a randomized complete block, in a factorial 2 × 3 + 1 arrangement, with four replications. The treatments consisted of two K sources (KCl - 58 % of K2O and F2 - 8.42 % K2O) and three...

EFFECT OF ALTERNATIVE MULTINUTRIENT SOURCES ON SOIL CHEMICAL PROPERTIES Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Solo
Martins,Vanessa; Silva,Douglas Ramos Guelfi; Marchi,Giuliano; Leite,Maurício Cunha Almeida; Martins,Éder de Souza; Gonçalves,Ana Stella Freire; Guilherme,Luiz Roberto Guimarães.
The current high price of potassium chloride and the dependence of Brazil on imported materials to supply the domestic demand call for studies evaluating the efficiency of alternative sources of nutrients. The aim of this work was to evaluate the effect of silicate rock powder and a manganese mining by-product, and secondary materials originated from these two materials, on soil chemical properties and on brachiaria production. This greenhouse experiment was conducted in pots with 5 kg of soil (Latossolo Vermelho-Amarelo distrófico - Oxisol). The alternative nutrient sources were: verdete, verdete treated with NH4OH, phonolite, ultramafic rock, mining waste and the proportion of 75 % of these K fertilizers and 25 % lime. Mixtures containing 25 % of lime...

Characterization and nutrient release from silicate rocks and influence on chemical changes in soil Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Solo
Silva,Douglas Ramos Guelfi; Marchi,Giuliano; Spehar,Carlos Roberto; Guilherme,Luiz Roberto Guimarães; Rein,Thomaz Adolpho; Soares,Danilo Araújo; Ávila,Fabrício William.
The expansion of Brazilian agriculture has led to a heavy dependence on imported fertilizers to ensure the supply of the growing food demand. This fact has contributed to a growing interest in alternative nutrient sources, such as ground silicate rocks. It is necessary, however, to know the potential of nutrient release and changes these materials can cause in soils. The purpose of this study was to characterize six silicate rocks and evaluate their effects on the chemical properties of treated soil, assessed by chemical extractants after greenhouse incubation. The experimental design consisted of completely randomized plots, in a 3 x 6 factorial scheme, with four replications. The factors were potassium levels (0-control: without silicate rock...

Biofertilizers and performance of Paenibacillus in the absorption of macronutrients by cowpea bean and soil fertility AGRIAMBI
Silva,Valéria N. da; Silva,Luiz E. de S. F. da; Silva,Apolino J. N. da; Macedo,Gorete R. de.
ABSTRACT The study was conducted in a greenhouse at the Agricultural Research Corporation of Rio Grande do Norte (EMPARN), in order to evaluate the effect of biofertilizers and potassium phosphate rocks, triple superphosphate (TSP) and potassium chloride (KCl), crushed rocks on the chemical properties of the soil and performance of the bacteria Paenibacillus polymyxa in the absorption of macronutrients by the cowpea bean crop. An Ultisol (10 kg per pot) was used with the addition of biofertilizers at levels 40, 70, 100 and 200% of recommendation for TSP and KCl, inoculated or not with bacteria. There was an effect of fertilization on the absorption of macronutrients, being the best results for P and K with TSP + KCL, and N, Ca and Mg for the...

Chemical attributes of a remineralized Oxisol Ciência Rural
Silva,Rafael Cipriano da; Cury,Marina Elias; Ieda,João José Cardinali; Sermarini,Renata Alcarde; Azevedo,Antonio Carlos de.
ABSTRACT: Remineralizers are comminuted rocks that are applied to soil, and their use as an agricultural amendment was regulated in Brazil in 2013. However, mechanisms of action of these materials must be better known to enable them to be best used in agricultural fields. Soil chemical attributes of an Oxisol were monitored after the application of a diabase remineralizer. The increase in exchangeable Na observed was associated with the dissolution of the border of the plagioclase crystals where this element is highly concentrated (albite). Therefore, it was inferred that the time since the application of the remineralizer (1 to 2 years depending on the treatment) was not sufficient to exhaust this crystal volume. Unfortunately, the presence of several...
