The Sirindhorn Chaipattana Agricultural Development Project is situated at Nern Makok Subdistrict, Bang Moon Nark District, Phichit Province. It was established in 2007. Phitsanulok Rice Research Center has a major responsibility for a sub-project called Quality Rice Seed Production in the area of 26 rai (9.16 ha). The main objectives are to produce a seed source and being a center of technology transfer for farmers in the area. Targets consist of producing 30 tons of foundation seed and providing a training course for 120 farmers/year. Four to five photo-insensitive rice varieties are planted 2 crops/year. The knowledge transfer and community potential development project at Ban Huay Sai, Huay Poo Ling, Muang, Mae Hong Son province and the project to solve opium growing area at Ban Huay Ha, Muang Paeng, Pai, Mae Hong Son province. At Ban Huay Sai upland rice is staple food crops but 8 households or 30 percent are insufficient for consumption about 2-3 months during the year. The project began in 2012 by transplanting photo-sensitive varieties for first rice crop and photo-insensitive varieties for second rice crop.
