Fisheries management is difficult especially in developing countries where there are little or no data available for stock assessment. Here, a simple model based on the length-based Bayesian biomass (LBB) is applied to length frequencies collected on the two sardinella species (Sardinella maderensis and S. aurita) collected in Senegalese waters (2004 to 2014) to diagnose these stocks and to support the development of fishery management options that may improve the livelihoods of artisanal fishermen. Annual mean length of both species of sardinella showed a large variation during the decadal study period. It is assumed that such variations are due to environmental changes. Trophic spectrum of Cynoscion guatucupa (striped weakfish) was analyzed through stomach content of individuals coming from two areas of Buenos Aires coast (38° 30'S - 41° 30'S): Argentine - Uruguayan Fishing Common Zone (AUFCZ) and El Rincón area (Argentine Sea, SW Atlantic). The stomach contents of 3323 individual captured in research cruises carried out during 2004 and 2005 was determined. In the diet 39 prey items were identified corresponding to 4 Phyla. The Argentine-Uruguayan Common Fishing Zone and the problem of the hake catch quota allocation. The aim of this paper is to present the problem of the catch quota in the shared zone and the proposals related to the maximum catch from 1976 to 1998. The state of the population which inhabits the Common Fishing Zone and north of 41°S is diagnosed, concluding that the total biomass has declined in this period and the spawning stock biomass is under the allowable biological catches. In addition, the catch per unit effort (CPUE)of the commercial fleet has a declining tendency and the total effort is duplicated.
