Sea turtles are increasingly threatened by the direct and indirect effects of human activities. Their life cycle is complex, shared between various, and often very distant, habitats. Their conservation therefore requires identifying the habitats occupied at each stage of life and the migration routes between these different habitats. While the spatial ecology of adult turtles is relatively well known, particularly through satellite monitoring, the situation is not the same for juveniles which pelagic development phase remains largely unobserved. In that context, numerical simulation constitutes an appropriate tool to explore the dispersal of juvenile sea turtles from their natal beaches. We are interested in the numerical simulation of the catch process at the end part of a trawl. The study of previous works emphasizes the lack of a convincing flow model. The need of a physical understanding of the flow leads us to perform experimental campaigns around a rigid cod-end net model, whose results are given in the manuscript. We propose a model based on the Navier-Stokes/Brinkman equations coupled to an equation for the turbulent kinetic energy by the means of an eddy viscosity, with appropriate boundary conditions. Existence of a weak solution to our coupled problem is proved in dimension 2. Then, we present the axisymmetric code we developed, called SeaNet. This work focuses on the refinement of sea-states spectral characterisation in the frame of the development of wave energy converters (WECs). Until now, this characterisation has been limited to the consideration of basic global parameters such as the significant wave height and mean wave period. The present work namely underlines - thanks to simplified numerical models - that such a description is not sufficient to account for the performance of WECs, for they still exhibit a large variability in terms of mean production while wave energy and period are fixed. Caractérisation numérique et expérimentale des perturbations engendrées par la présence de tables ostréicoles ArchiMer

Sur de nombreux sites ostréicoles, d’importants mouvements sédimentaires modifient les conditions d’exploitation. Les mouvements naturels sont modifiés par la présence des tables à huîtres, les phénomènes en jeu étant de deux ordres : la perturbation des courants de marée et la modification des conditions de houle. Nous présentons dans ce document la méthodologie mise en place pour améliorer la compréhension des perturbations physiques du milieu engendrées par l’implantation de tables ostréicoles et caractériser les modifications de l’écoulement.
