ABSTRACT Mutant color alopecia is an ectodermical defection of color dilution, characterized by partial alopecia, dry, shine-less hair, and peeling and papule. Melanization damages also occur on the cortical structure of the affected hair. The animals affected have big melanin grains with irregular shape on the basal keratinocytes, also on the hair matrix cells and rod. Therefore, there is not a specific treatment that makes any difference on the syndrome evolution. Although in some animals, it is possible to use weekly showers with benzyl peroxide to reduce seborrhea formation and secondary infections. OBJECTIVES: To collect data about non-controlled prescribing use of daptomycin and its impact among Brazilian patients with serious Gram positive bacterial infection, as well as the efficacy and safety outcomes. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This is a multi-center, retrospective, non-interventional registry (August 01, 2009 to June 30, 2011) to collect data on 120 patients (44 patients in the first year and 76 patients in the second year) who had received at least one dose of commercial daptomycin in Brazil for the treatment of serious Gram-positive bacterial infection. Objective: To report on a case of ischemic dermatopathy, clinically and histopatologically compatible with multifocal ischemic dermatopathy. Description: A three-year old male Maltese dog was diagnosed With isquemic dermatopathy at Koala Hospital Animal (Koala Animal Hospital), São Paulo, Sp, Brazil. Initial lesions affected the pinnae,joolpads, scrolwn, hocks, olecranum, right flank, tip of the tail and periocular and perioral areas. The dog had been vaccinated against rabies in the right flank, four months before lesions were first noted.
