Hydrological processes obtained on the plot scale under four simulated rainfall tests during the cycle of different crop systems Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Solo
Bertol,Ildegardis; Ramos,Roger Robert; Barbosa,Fabrício Tondello; Ramos,Julio César; Bandeira,Douglas Henrique; Tanaka,Mitsui Shinosaka.
The cropping system influences the interception of water by plants, water storage in depressions on the soil surface, water infiltration into the soil and runoff. The aim of this study was to quantify some hydrological processes under no tillage cropping systems at the edge of a slope, in 2009 and 2010, in a Humic Dystrudept soil, with the following treatments: corn, soybeans, and common beans alone; and intercropped corn and common bean. Treatments consisted of four simulated rainfall tests at different times, with a planned intensity of 64 mm h-1 and 90 min duration. The first test was applied 18 days after sowing, and the others at 39, 75 and 120 days after the first test. Different times of the simulated rainfall and stages of the crop cycle affected...

Hydraulic conductivity and water retention in leptosols-regosols and saprolite derived from sandstone, Brazil Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Solo
Araújo Pedron,Fabrício de; Fink,Jessé Rodrigo; Rodrigues,Miriam Fernanda; Azevedo,Antonio Carlos de.
Leptosols and Regosols are soils with a series of restrictions for use, mainly related to the effective depth, which have been poorly studied in Brazil. These soils, when derived from sedimentary rocks should be treated with particular care to avoid environmental damage such as aquifer contamination. The purpose of this study was to verify the behavior of hydraulic conductivity and water retention capacity in profiles of Leptosols and Regosols derived from sandstone of the Caturrita formation in Rio Grande do Sul state. The morphology, particle size distribution, porosity, soil density (Ds), saturated hydraulic conductivity (Ks), basic water infiltration in the field (BI) and water retention were determined in soil and saprolite samples of six soil...
