El conocimiento de las firmas espectrales en la valoración de parámetros fisiológicos y nutrimentales, serán de gran utilidad en una agricultura mayormente competitiva. El objetivo de esta investigación consistió en obtener firmas espectrales en hojas de pimiento mediante un espectrómetro e imágenes digitales (escáner) durante el desarrollo del cultivo, para el diagnóstico de estrés por carencias y excesos de nitrógeno. Estimating foliar nitrogen in Eucalyptus using vegetation indexes Scientia Agricola

ABSTRACT Nitrogen (N) has commonly been applied in Eucalyptus stands in Brazil and it has a direct relation with biomass production and chlorophyll content. Foliar N concentrations are used to diagnose soil and plant fertility levels and to develop N fertilizer application rates. Normally, foliar N is obtained using destructive methods, but indirect analyses using Vegetation Indexes (VIs) may be possible. The aim of this work was to evaluate VIs to estimate foliar N concentration in three Eucalyptus clones. Lower crown leaves of three clonal Eucalyptus plantations (25 months old) were classified into five color patterns using the Munsell Plant Tissue Color Chart. Khao Dawk Mali 105 (KDML 105) (Oryza sativa L) is well known as Thai jasmine rice. The major aroma component of KDML 105 is 2-Acetyl-1-pyrroline (2AP). Besides the 2AP, KDML 105 contains various volatile components which contribute aroma and flavor to the rice. Moreover, hydrocarbons, aldehydes, ketones, and alcohols are also found in the rice sample. Due to the complex nature of the sample, some volatile components which co-elute with rice matrix components are not easily identified using traditional GC-MS. GCxGC-TOFMS is a new technique that increases peak capacity and enhances peak sensitivity. An option for reducing postharvest losses is to use automatic systems for flower sorting and classification, which yield consistent results, reduce costs and speed up these tasks.
