Correlations between spectral and biophysical data obtained in canola canopy cultivated in the subtropical region of Brazil PAB
Pinto,Daniele Gutterres; Fontana,Denise Cybis; Dalmago,Genei Antonio; Fochesatto,Elizandro; Vicari,Matheus Boni; Bremm,Carolina; Cunha,Gilberto Rocca da; Gouvêa,Jorge Alberto de; Santi,Anderson.
Abstract: The objective of this work was to identify the spectral bands, vegetation indices, and periods of the canola crop season in which the correlation between spectral data and biophysical indicators (total shoot dry matter and grain yield) is most significant. The experiment was carried out during the 2013 and 2014 crop seasons at Embrapa Trigo, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. A randomized complete block design was used, with four replicates, and the treatments consisted of five doses of nitrogen topdressing. Plant dry matter, grain yield, and phenology were measured. The canola spectral response was evaluated by measuring the canola canopy reflectance using a spectroradiometer, and, with this data, the SR, NDVI, EVI, SAVI, and GNDVI...

Spectral regionalization of tropical soils in the estimation of soil attributes Rev. Ciênc. Agron.
Demattê,José A. M.; Bellinaso,Henrique; Araújo,Suzana Romeiro; Rizzo,Rodnei; Souza,Arnaldo Barros.
ABSTRACT Conventional soil analysis produces large amount of residues and demand resources and time consuming. The construction of soil spectral database for estimating soil attributes is the newest alternative on soil mapping. The objective in this study was to build spectral libraries and study the quality of the generated prediction models for soil attributes. It was obtained 7185 soil spectral (400-2500 nm) in laboratory with respective soil analysis. The spectral libraries "general", "regional", and "local" were generated from these spectral readings. The general spectral library contained the full range of data and several states, the regional libraries contained data from geographically close municipalities, and the local libraries contained soil...

Assessing biophysical variable parameters of bean crop with hyperspectral measurements Scientia Agricola
Monteiro,Priscylla Ferraz Câmara; Angulo Filho,Rubens; Xavier,Alexandre Cândido; Monteiro,Rodrigo Otávio Câmara.
Recently high spectral resolution sensors have been developed, which allow new and more advanced applications in agriculture. Motivated by the increasing importance of hyperspectral remote sensing data, the need for research is important to define optimal wavebands to estimate biophysical parameters of crop. The use of narrow band vegetation indices (VI) derived from hyperspectral measurements acquired by a field spectrometer was evaluated to estimate bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) grain yield, plant height and leaf area index (LAI). Field canopy reflectance measurements were acquired at six bean growth stages over 48 plots with four water levels (179.5; 256.5; 357.5 and 406.2 mm) and tree nitrogen rates (0; 80 and 160 kg ha-1) and four replicates. The...

Narrow band spectral indexes for chlorophyll determination in soybean canopies [Glycine max (L.) Merril] Braz. J. Plant Physiol.
Ferri,Clotilde Pinheiro; Formaggio,Antonio Roberto; Schiavinato,Marlene Aparecida.
Photosynthetic pigments are essential for plant development. Quantifying these pigments in great extensions of agricultural crops is an important objective in remote sensing for agricultural purposes. This information can be used to produce a more accurate estimation of the physiological state of the vegetation, for species discrimination and productivity estimation. The aim of the present study was to (a) evaluate the potential for estimating chlorophyll content of crop canopies, using narrow band spectral indexes, and (b) in this respect compare the performances of NDVI (a multispectral wide band index) and two narrow band vegetation indexes (R750/700 and R750/550). Experiments were carried out under greenhouse conditions whereby soybean [Glycine max...

Temporal dynamics of spectral reflectance and vegetation indices during canola crop cycle in southern Brazil Ciência Rural
Pinto,Daniele Gutterres; Fontana,Denise Cybis; Dalmago,Genei Antonio; Cunha,Gilberto Rocca da; Fochesato,Elizandro; Vicari,Matheus Boni; Gouvêa,Jorge Alberto de; Santi,Anderson.
ABSTRACT: The objective of this study was to characterize the variability of spectral reflectance and temporal profiles of vegetation indices associated with nitrogen fertilization, crop cycle periods, and weather conditions of the growing season in canola canopies in southern Brazil. An experiment was carried out during the 2013 and 2014 canola growing seasons at EMBRAPA Trigo, Passo Fundo, state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The experiment was conducted in a randomized block design with four replications. Five doses of nitrogen top dressing were used as treatments: 10, 20, 40, 80, and 160kg ha-1. Measurements were obtained with the spectroradiometer positioned above the canopy, to construct spectral reflectance curves for canola and establish temporal...
