Reproduction de la langoustine, Nephrops norvegicus dans la region sud Bretagne ArchiMer
Morizur, Yvon.
The size and age at sexual maturity of the lobsters was determined by secondary sexual characteristics (1) morphological criteria such as length of P1 protopodite, size of the abdomen, and the presence or absence of ovarian hairs in the female; and (2) functional criteria such as the presence of spermatophores in the female and development of the ovaries. A study of fecundity was carried out after maturation of the ovaries and at the end of incubation. The number of eggs lost during incubation was estimated at 45%. The contribution of different age classes to the global fecundity of the stock was simulated on a model of fecundity by recruits.

Little known and new South-west European slugs (Pulmonata: Agriolimacidae, Arionidae) Naturalis
Winter, A.J. de.
Four new taxa of slugs of the genera Arion and Deroceras are described, viz., Deroceras vascoana spec. nov., Arion (Kobeltia) fagophilus spec. nov. and Arion (Mesarion) urbiae spec. nov. from NW Spain, as well as Deroceras altimirai levisarcobelum subspec. nov. from the French Pyrenees. D. altimirai Altena is considered a polytypic species, with three subspecies, D. a. altimirai Altena, D. a. tarracense Altena and D. a. levisarcobelum subspec. nov. The nominate subspecies is reported from France for the first time. Arion (Kobeltia) anthracius Bourguignat is considered a valid species. Its genital anatomy is described for the first time from specimens collected some 60 km from the type locality. The study of topotypes is still necessary, as the type...

Phylogeny of the Anomura (Decapoda, Crustacea): Spermatozoa and spermatophore morphological evidence Naturalis
Tudge, Christopher C..
A phylogenetic analysis of selected anomuran, thalassinidean, and other decapod crustacean taxa, based on spermatozoal ultrastructural characters and spermatophore morphological characters, was performed and the following relationships of the taxa are elucidated from the trees produced. The Anomura are not a monophyletic assemblage, with the lomoid Lomis being exclusive of the remainder of the anomuran taxa, and the thalassinid Thalassina included in the anomuran clade. The synapomorphy joining the majority of the conventional anomuran taxa ( Lomis excluded) is the cytoplasmic origin of the microtubular arms. When the palinurid and thalassinoid representatives are separately designated as outgroups, the Astacidea and Brachyura jointly formed a sister group...

Polyandrous behavior in Cerconota anonella Sepp (Lepidoptera: Oecophoridae) Neotropical Entomology
Fonseca,Marcy G.; Sousa-Souto,Leandro; Lima,Eraldo R..
Among insects polyandrous behavior is common and plays an important role in female reproductive output. The present study aimed to evaluate the mating frequency of the moth Cerconota anonella Sepp under laboratory conditions and to verify if polyandrous behavior is common in this species. Approximately 47% of females mated more than once. However they presented differences in the mating period (early or late). In general, precocious females were more frequent than late females (P < 0.001, Binomial test). Such results suggest that polyandry in C. anonella may be common in the field.

Biotic potential and reproductive parameters of Spodoptera eridania (Stoll) (Lepidoptera, Noctuidae) in the laboratory Rev. Bras. entomol.
Montezano,Débora Goulart; Specht,Alexandre; Sosa-Gómez,Daniel Ricardo; Roque-Specht,Vânia Ferreira; Barros,Neiva Monteiro de.
Biotic potential and reprodutcive parameters of Spodoptera eridania (Stoll) (Lepidoptera, Noctuidae) in the laboratory: This study aimed to evaluate the biotic potential and reproductive parameters of Spodoptera eridania (Stoll, 1782) under controlled conditions (25 ± 1ºC, 70 ± 10% RH and 14 hour photophase). The longevity, pre-, post- and oviposition periods, fecundity and fertility of 15 couples was evaluated. The longevity of females (10.80 days) was not significantly higher than those of males (9.27 days). The mean durations of the pre, post and oviposition periods were 2.067, 0.600 and 8.133 days, respectively. The mean fecundity per female was 1,398 eggs and the mean fertility was 1,367.50 larvae. On average, females copulated 1.133 times. A strong...

Biotic potential and reproductive parameters of Spodoptera dolichos (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) in the laboratory Rev. Bras. Zool.
Montezano,Débora G.; Sosa-Gómez,Daniel R.; Paula-Moraes,Silvana V.; Roque-Specht,Vânia F.; Fronza,Edegar; Barros,Neiva M.; Specht,Alexandre.
ABSTRACT The biotic potential and reproductive parameters of Spodoptera dolichos (Fabricius, 1794) were evaluated under controlled conditions (25 ± 1°C, 70 ± 10% RH and 14 hour photophase). The longevity, pre-, post- and oviposition periods, fecundity, and fertility of 25 couples were evaluated. The longevity of females (12.9 days) was not significantly different than that of males (12.4 days). The mean durations of the pre-, post- and oviposition periods were 3.0, 0.4 and 10.4 days, respectively. The mean fecundity was 4,086.0 eggs per female and mean fertility was 3,557.8 larvae per female. On average, a female copulated 1.4 times. The biotic potential of S. dolichos was estimated at 7.138 x 1018 individuals/female/year. The net reproductive rate (Ro)...

This study aimed to evaluate the biotic potential, life table parameters and fertility of Spodoptera albula (Walker, 1857) under controlled conditions (25 ± 1°C, 70 ± 10% RH and 14 hour photo phase). The longevity, pre, post and oviposition periods, fecundity and fertility of 13 couples were evaluated. The longevity of females (13.500 days) was significantly higher than those of males (11.154 days). The mean durations of the pre, post and oviposition periods were 2.615, 1.769 and 9.385 days, respectively. The mean fecundity was 1.417.69 eggs and mean fertility was 1.340.401 larvae, per female. On average, females copulated 1, 231 times. A strong positive correlation was observed between the number of copulations and fecundity (r = 0.847, p <0.001), as...

Testis and vas deferens morphology of the red-clawed mangrove tree crab (Goniopsis cruentata) (Latreille, 1803) BABT
Garcia,Tatiane Martins; Silva,José Roberto Feitosa.
The present study describes the structure of the testes and vas deferens of the red-clawed mangrove tree crab, Goniopsis cruentata. Testes and vas deferens were fixed with cold Bouin's solution and submitted to histological routine examinations. Light microscopy showed the testis to be divided into three regions: anterior, containing the germinal zone; intermediary, including the collecting duct; and posterior. The vas deferens, which was continuous with the testes, could be divided into two regions: one corresponding to the expansions and another lined by cubical epithelium, collagenous fibers and a circular layer of muscle cells and containing the androgenic gland. Spermatophores were observed in both vas deferens regions suggesting that they...
