Marcgraf's (1648) Brazilian Crustacea Naturalis
Holthuis, L.B..
An inventory is given of the Crustacea described and figured in N.E. Brazil during the governorship of Johan Maurits van Nassau (1637-1644). Of each of the 31 species the available sources of information are discussed and an identification has been attempted.

First record of a settled stomatopod Platysquilla eusebia in the North Sea (Malacostraca: Stomatopoda) Naturalis
Lewis, W.; Gittenberger, A..
This paper describes the discovery of a settled juvenile specimen of the stomatopod Platysquilla eusebia on the Dutch part of the Dogger Bank in the central North Sea. This is the northernmost record in Europe. The species is native to the Mediterranean and to the Atlantic coast from Portugal up to France. Further investigations have to show if the species already forms populations this far north. As the planktonic stages of P. eusebia have already been recorded in prior years, the establishment of the species should not be a problem, providing the circumstances are favourable.

Late Cretaceous stomatopods (Crustacea, Malacostraca) from Israel and Jordan Naturalis
Hof, Cees H.J..
The eryonid decapod Eryon yehoachi Remy & Avnimelech, 1955, from the Late Cretaceous of Israel, is redescribed as a fossil stomatopod species within the new genus Ursquilla. This redescription is based on the original type specimen and two additional records from Israel and Jordan. The material allows a detailed reconstruction of the telson, the sixth abdominal tergite, and part of the uropods. The distinct telson ornamentation of these stomatopods justifies the erection of a new family within the superfamily Squilloidea.

Palaeo- and archaeostomatopods (Hoplocarida, Crustacea) from the Bear Gulch Limestone, Mississippian (Namurian), of central Montana Naturalis
Jenner, Ronald A.; Hof, Cees H.J.; Schram, Frederick R..
The palaeostomatopod crustacean Bairdops beargulchensis Schram & Horner, 1978 (Malacostraca, Hoplocarida) from the Mississippian Bear Gulch Limestone is now seen as a taxonomic composite that arose from the confusion of specimens of two distinct hoplocarid species. These species are herein described as the palaeostomatopod Bairdops beargulchensis Schram & Horner, 1978 and a new species of archaeostomatopod, Tyrannophontes acanthocercus. quite distinct from the Pennsylvanian archaeostomatopod Tyrannophontes acanthocercus is T. theridion from the Essex fauna (Mazon Creek), with which it was originally compared. Bairdops beargulchensis is very similar to the Mississippian palaeostomatopod, B. elegans, from the Scottish Glencartholm fauna. A previously...

Diversity and structure of the stomatopod (Crustacea) community on the Amazon continental shelf Rev. Bras. Zool.
Silva,Kátia C. Araújo; Cintra,Israel H. A.; Martins,Déborah E. G.; Abrunhosa,Fernando A..
The present study aimed to characterize the biodiversity of the Stomatopoda species found off the coast of the northern Brazilian states of Amapá and Pará, within the region's Exclusive Economic Zone. Two distinct sectors were surveyed, to the north and to the south of Cape Norte. The specimens were collected during fishery surveys carried out between 1996 and 1998 by the Revizee Program, using bottom shrimp trawl nets. The specimens were identified at the Crustaceans Laboratory of the Center for Research and Management of Fishery Resources of the Northern Coast and the Carcinology Laboratory of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco. The 189 identified specimens represented Lysiosquilla scabricauda (Lamarck, 1818) (n = 2), Parasquilla meridionalis...
