Última Subgeneric affiliation of Ropalidia thailandia Gusenleitner: a case showing ambiguity of the subgenera of Ropalidia Guérin-Méneville (Hymenoptera: Vespidae: Polistinae) Naturalis Kojima, J.. The subgeneric affiliation of Ropalidia thailandia Gusenleitner, 1994, is reexamined. Gusenleitner (1994) placed this species in the subgenus Icarielia, in particular comparing it with R. decorata. Examination of characters not mentioned by Gusenleitner suggests instead that R. thailandia belongs to the R. stigmagroup, which is not included in the subgenus Icarielia. The case of R. thailandia shows that the subgenera of the genus Ropalidia are still ill-defined. A revision of species included in the subgenus Laurentomantis (genus Mantidactylus) yielded new information about phylogeny, taxonomy, and biogeography of the endemic mantellid frog radiation in Madagascar. Four Laurentomantis species, distinguished by morphology and advertisement calls, are recognized: Mantidactylus (Laurentomantis) horridus (Northern and North- Western biogeographic regions), M. (L.) ventrimaculatus (South- East and East); M. (L.) malagasius (East); and the new species M. (L.) striatus (North-East). Notes on the systematics of the orchid-bee genus Eulaema (Hymenoptera, Apidae). The classification of the genus Eulaema is modified in order to make it congruent with recent phylogenetic hypotheses based on molecular data. The speciosa group, containing E. peruviana, E. speciosa and related species, is removed from E. (Eulaema) and transferred to E. (Apeulaema). New morphological characters are presented to support the revised scope of the subgenera and their diagnostic features are revised. Six species groups are recognized herein: two in E.
