Phosphorus is one of essential nutrient element not only for plant growth but also for enhancing soil microorganisms. Phosphorus currently has been attributed to influence nitrogenase activity of nitrogen fixing microorganisms. This experiment aimed to study the interaction between phosphorus and nitrogenase activity of Azospirillum. The P sources came from soil, rock phosphate and activity of Bacillus megaterium. CRD with 4 replications, using Suwan 5 maize as the test plant, was carried in 2 experiments. The first experiment consisted 9 treatments and was conducted in laboratory, while the second experiment, consisted 8 treatments, was done in green house. The result showed significant nitrogenase activity in week 4 of incubation. The activity tended to... |
