PRODUCTIVITY AND NUTRITIVE VALUE OF TIFTON 85 IN SUMMER, WITH AND WITHOUT IRRIGATION UNDER DIFFERENT NITROGEN DOSES REA
Sanches,Arthur C.; Gomes,Eder P.; Rickli,Max E.; Friske,Elcio; Fasolin,Julia P..
ABSTRACT The pasture irrigation has expanded, mostly in small areas in order to boost the production system, along with the use of soil improvement techniques and high-productivity grasses. Thus, this study, carried out on a small dairy farm property, aimed to evaluate the productivity, botanical composition and nutritive value of Tifton 85 with different nitrogen (N) doses, in the presence and absence of irrigation. The experimental design was a randomized block in a split-plot design with four replications, plots Non-irrigated and Irrigated. The subplots consisted of nitrogen doses: 25 kg ha−1 cycle−1 of N, 50 kg ha−1 cycle−1 of N, 75 kg ha−1 cycle−1 of N and 100 kg ha−1 cycle−1 of N. The irrigation increased the productivity in an average of 3,626.5 kg...

PRODUCTIVITY OF IRRIGATED JAMBU UNDER SOIL-WATER STRESSES AND NITROGEN DOSES REA
Aviz,William L. C. de; Lima Junior,Joaquim A. de; Silva,André L. P. da; Oliveira,Pedro D. de; Gama,Cândido M. P..
ABSTRACT Jambu (Acmella oleracea (L.) R.K.) is a short-cycle leafy vegetable from the Amazon region, which needs an adequate availability of water and nutrients, mainly nitrogen, to obtain a rapid mass increase. This research aimed to study the effect of different soil-water stresses and nitrogen doses on jambu cultivation in the state of Pará. The experiments were conducted at the Igarapé-Açu experimental farm of the Federal Rural University of Amazonia (UFRA). The Jamburana variety was used in a 10 × 10 cm spacing, using a randomized block design in a 4 × 4 factorial scheme with three replications. Each plot had a dimension of 0.4 × 0.5 m (0.2 m2), totaling 20 plants in 4 rows, but only the plants of the central rows were useful. Treatments consisted of...

Soil water stress ranges: water use efficiency and Chinese cabbage production in protected cultivation Horticultura Brasileira
Paulus,Dalva; Zorzzi,Ivan Carlos; Rankrape,Fabiana.
ABSTRACT Water deficit or water excess can affect development and yield of vegetables. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of different soil water stress ranges for Chinese cabbage (Brassica pekinensis) in a protected cultivation. The researches were carried out at the Olericulture Sector of Universidade Federal Tecnologica do Paraná between April and July, 2015 and January and April, 2016. Two Chinese cabbage cultivars were analyzed (Eikoo and Kinjitsu) with four soil water stress range (13-17, 23-27, 33-37 and 43-47 kPa) moments of irrigation indicative parameters. The trial design was completely randomized, with four replications, in a factorial scheme. For head fresh mass, a soil stress range of 13-17 kPa resulted in higher yield...

Canola yield under different irrigation frequencies and nitrogen levels in the Brazilian Cerrado Ciência e Agrotecnologia
Sanches,Arthur Carniato; Gomes,Eder Pereira; Azevedo,Edéria Pereira Gomes.
ABSTRACT In the Brazilian Cerrado, canola is grown in the off-season. During this period, rainfall is insufficient to ensure the maximum crop yield, and irrigation is needed. Canola has a high demand for nitrogen; thus, the application of this nutrient is essential for obtaining a good crop yield. Therefore, a study was conducted at the Federal University of Grande Dourados in 2012 and 2013 using a randomized block split-plot design with four repetition treatments in the plot that consisted of three irrigation frequencies (no irrigation, weekly irrigation and irrigation three times per week). Subplots received different doses of nitrogen: 0, 30, 60, 90 and 120 kg ha- 1 in 2012 and 0, 60, 120, 180 and 240 kg ha-1 in 2013. In both periods, the irrigation...
