Última Une théorie de plaque sandwich ArchiMer Mace, M. The objective of this paper is to present a new two-dimensional plate theory inside which a very thin layer is sandwiched. Based upon a prescribed displacement field and a shear stress field fulfilling continuity conditions at the interfaces, this model takes into account the shearing strain due to the high rigidity ratio between the thick skins and the thin film. It is also shown how the present theory was assessed when calculating a rectangular sandwich plate for which Pagano proposed an "exact" three-dimensional solution.
