Evaluation of new agricultural tractors engines by using a portable dynamometer Ciência Rural
Farias,Marcelo Silveira de; Schlosser,José Fernando; Estrada,Javier Solis; Frantz,Ulisses Giacomini; Rodrigues,Fabrício Azevedo.
ABSTRACT: Official agricultural engineering testing aims to determine torque and power, which are important information for decision making when buying an agricultural tractor. In this research the torque and maximum power values provided by manufacturers with the dynamometer tests values, were compared. Forty new agricultural tractors commercialized in the brazilian market were used. Tractors were classified according to the power range in: Class I (less than or equal 22.1kW); Class II (between 22.1 and 51.5kW); Class III (51.5 and 73.5kW); Class IV (73.5 and 117.7kW); and Class V (117.7 and 183.9kW). Variables were analyzed with the statistic t-Student test (P≥0.05). Class IV tractors engines power is bigger in comparison to the values specified by...

PERFORMANCE OF AN AGRICULTURAL DIESEL ENGINE USING DIFFERENTS FUELS REA
Perin,Gismael F.; Schlosser,José F.; Galon,Leandro; Rodrigues,Fabrício A.; Frantz,Ulisses G..
ABSTRACT The use of fuels for agricultural Diesel engines cycle, both of mineral origin (Diesel) or vegetable and animal origin (biodiesel) can significantly alter its performance. Therefore, the aim of this study was to quantify the change in torque, power and consumption of agricultural Diesel engine fuel using minerals and vegetables fuels. It was used a tractor power take-off coupled to a magnetic brake dynamometer (for measuring speed and torque for subsequent calculation of power), and a flow meter (for measuring the hourly fuel consumption and specific fuel consumption calculation). Eleven different fuels (S10 mineral diesel with 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 50% biodiesel and mineral diesel S500 with 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 50% biodiesel, have been used pure...

GAINS IN PERFORMANCE OF DIESEL CYCLE ENGINE USING B10 Engenharia na Agricultura
Guimarães, Camila Coelho; Santos, Vivianni Marques Leite dos; Dantas, Alan Christie da Silva; Cortez, Jorge Wilson; Pereira, Paulo José.
Studies to develop renewable fuels, such as biodiesel, as substitutes for petroleum diesel are of great environmental importance. However, to be effectively incorporated into the energy mix, satisfactory performance of a diesel cycle engine under the effect of this biofuel must be ensured. The objective of this study was to evaluate the specific fuel consumption, effective power and torque of a diesel engine with respect to resistive loads under varying volumetric proportions of soybean biodiesel in diesel mineral oil (5% (B5), 10% (B10), 25% (B25) and 50% (B50)) under varying applied loads (1.5, 3.0, 4.5, 6.0, 7.5 and 9.0 kW). For the test, a 7.36 kW engine coupled to a 28.8 kW three-phase electric generator was used. The loads were elevated up to 9.0 kW...

Characteristics of a tractor engine using mineral and biodiesel fuels blended with rapeseed oil Scientia Agricola
Godeša,Tone; Jejčič,Viktor; Poje,Tomaž.
One of the most unfavourable characteristics of crude vegetable oil when used as the fuel is the high viscosity. To improve this weakness, oil can be blended with mineral diesel or biodiesel fuels. This study was designed to evaluate how the use of mineral diesel or biodiesel blend with cold pressed rapeseed (Brassica napus) oil affects the engine power, torque and fuel consumption. A tractor equipped with direct injection, water cooling system and three-cylinder diesel engine was used for the experiment. Fuels used were standard diesel fuel (diesel), rapeseed oil methyl ester - biodiesel (B100) and their mixtures with 10, 30 and 50 vol. % of cold pressed rapeseed oil (RO). Increased portion of RO in diesel fuel blends had almost no effect on the torque...
